I love what you said about "spoon-feeding" our students. I also teach high school English, and I have had the same issue with my seniors for research papers. We spent two weeks working on them, and I still had students who did not have their essay finished by the due date! It's good to hear that we all have these struggles.

Oh my goodness I am just finding your channel and it has been so amazing! I’m currently student teaching and this week has been the week when I really started feeling like I’m failing my students or I’m not cut out to be a teacher because they don’t get something or get worked up over something simple I give them. So it’s so encouraging to see someone much more experienced than I being honest about the anxieties that come with teaching!

Oh I totally know what that feels like! I know that when it starts to get intense like that, taking some time (an afternoon or weekend, if that's all you've got) away from teaching and thinking about school helps sooooo much in reseting my perspective... I hope you feel better soon!

It is surprising how universal the teaching experience is! I am literally sitting down, into my fifth consecutive hour of marking. I think your channel name is so apt right now. There should be a specific brand of coffee just for teachers. Good luck with your own marking.

Oh you’re turning into me! I have been waking up at the weirdest times!!! 3:30, 4:00 etc 😫 Thoughts are spinning in my head and I just can’t get back to sleep. I think it happens when my ‘To Do’ list gets too long! Our Autumn break is coming up in two weeks and it is VERY much welcome! I hope your anxiety calms soon. Yep, yep and Yep.
