The fun of sailing... 😉🌊 That the broken shackle hit the panel and not a forward facing plastic window or crew was fortunate.. At least with poly you can get at most of the systems from inside. I trust you will be adding some protection against stern chaser 🌊 wave's.

The good news is nothing falling straight down can hit the front windows. It nevertheless is a very potentially dangerous situation and I always stress this point whenever someone is working on the mast for noone to be on the deck just in case. Yes we are adding a drain at the cockpit door threshold. Cheers. B
