Sorry about your onions. I just plant shallots. The Old Farmer's Almanac says: Select a location with full sun, where other plants won't shade your onions. The more energy they can get from the sunlight, the larger their bulbs can grow. Mix aged manure or compost into the soil in the fall or early spring to improve texture. Ensure there are no rocks or debris. I don't know if they're right or not. I hope it helps.

Planting onions too deep can result in issues with bulb formation and can lead to bulbs that are small and oval-shaped rather than round.

Bend over the green tops of the onion or cut the top to about 4 inches. Either way and the onions should get bigger at the bulb side… just FYI 😊 And be sure only the roots are in the ground not the whole bulb especially about half way through the growing season.

Oh Andrea i feel your frustration with couch grass, its a nightmare. I heard using chickens in a limited area helps to reduce it because of their scratching. I'd love to know how the dark purple hydrangea keeps its colour! I can never remember which is acid or alkaline soil for pink or blue, but that purple is stunning. I love your piggies, such beautiful characters 😂 You have so many interesting places on your property and so much still to uncover like the water way, great bones, just need to find them 😂

Our onions turned out the same as yours this year. We live in Turkey and it has been hot and very dry since the beginning of April. It has been 40c plus since the end of April. It is currently 44c and no rain since end March/beginning April, so i thought maybe the weather caused the onions not to bulb up - maybe not?

I was curious too, so I googled "keeping pet pigs", and Amazon sells harness made for pet pigs that have been leash trained from babyhood. Pigs are actually smarter than dogs and can be trained to play all sorts of games if you start when they are babies - it's their size and strength that can make training an older pig more difficult.

Hydrangeas are beautiful. The purple ✔️. They love acidic soil and well drainage. Are you all bothered by fruit flies? They are driving me crazy here in Texas. The little buggars can withstand any treatment. I even find them in my frig.🤣 The boy pig is runting big time. That’s his job. You didn’t want to breed the female this season so removing her was 👏👏. Don’t worry sweet girl, your fun time is coming and then comes the reaping. I poured some apple cider vinegar in a cup, covered it with Saran Wrap and put rubber band around it, poked holes in wrap with a tooth pick and they are swarming to the jar. Goggled it.😂
