Toughest Race of My Life! Africa Eco Race to Dakar | Highlights

6,000km. 13 days. One unforgettable journey.
The Africa Eco Race, the ‘original’ Dakar, pushed me to my absolute limits-physically, mentally, and emotionally. Across 103 hours of riding, upwards of 635km per day, and brutal desert terrain, I managed to finish every single stage safely and smoothly, ranking 25th overall and becoming one of only 56% of moto riders to complete the full race in 2024!
This was the toughest, most gruelling challenge I’ve ever faced, with no mechanical issues, just 2 offs, and 4 small drops. My body may be broken, but my spirit is stronger than ever.
Huge thanks to my incredible support team, Jor of Desert Rose Racing, and my amazing girls Keri and Anika -you kept me going through those intense nights in the bivouac.

thats so awesome. Well done! I was the youngest in my to compete in a motor vehicle gymkhana, was the only female as achild young teen playing around on the motorbike track, first female in my group of friends & anyone else I knew that bought a4by & was told I was too short or that Im a girl to own a4by. I think its amazing to see females competing in any form of motor sports, owning 4bies, riding bikes & just getting out there. So proud of what you have achieved! 🎉🎊

I am 57yrs old and been riding moto bikes my whole life and still do. Enduro and adventure bikes now. I am absolutely amazed at what you are doing. Nothing but respect from Matt in Australia. You go girl. I have five children, four girls, and yes they all ride motos. Not quite like you though. Ride safe and enjoy.

Always good to see the high llighs of your race. Wish I would have known about "track following". But the new UP's and Down's with Skyla will be better than any race. Racing does not define you Vanessa. Your outlook, sharing life, and being the best YOU possible when life throw's you curves does. Wonder how much more "life to live" will be if Skyla has a sibling and more love for you to share (Alex is still no 1).
