When a creature dies in the outside world, flowers bloom in Gensokyo. Many flowers bloomed in this incident means many creatures died in the outside world. Touhou 09 was released in August 2005. And you subtract "60 years" keyword of this title, it is August 1945. The month of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Even though lots of musics are remixes of the other games, Yuuka's and Sikieiki's themes still make this OST at the level of the other ones.

Though Forsaken Doll's Intro reminded meh of the Stage 5 Boss Theme in Ten Desires (Legend of the Great Gods) (with some pitch changes). I wonder if it was really inspired by that song.

The remixes don't have any significant changes and yes, it's because of that. The number of totally original tracks is low in comparison with the rest of the series. Well, you can think that. As for me, UFO has one of the best in the series, great number of good tracks, althought this is a matter of taste, in the case of PoFV, there weren't much examples talking about numbers.

Edited first part bcs I'm stupid. Other than that I absolutely love love love Fate of Sixty Years, Riverside View and The Flower Like the Fantasy. Maybe this soundtrack may be mostly remixes from older themes but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable as a main entry OST.

I take back what I said, this is a pretty good track. Aya and Sakuya's themes are still my favorite, but Reimus theme is very nice. And Tewi, Komachi, and Eiki's themes are just yes. (not including the arranges so let alone with that xp)

honestly imo the weakest OST in Touhou, maybe it's because I haven't listened to these songs that much, but idk most of them aren't stand out to me tho The only good ones are Flowering Night and Wind God Girl (biased), Fate of Sixty Years is cool too. Edit: I've listened to all of the tracks in this game (not including arrangements) and I take back what I said. It's a pretty good one.

I mean unlike most other games, most of these themes are remixes of what already existed Even in the fighting games, there were still a lot of environment themes but here it’s mostly remixes For me, I do agree that Reimu and Marisa’s themes need a lot of listening in order to appreciate, but I do really like Yuuka and Komachi’s themes (along with Wind God Girl and Eiki’s theme)

IN, PoFV and MoF are amongst the best soundtracks in Touhou series. The ZUNpets are so intense and it shows that goof characters like Tewi and Komachi can be serious too

Y'know, when I say weakest, I'd say I find it... pretty unmemorable to me. Thus I'm not talking about the arrangements, I'm talking about the originals. I think they're fine, but they're honestly not interesting to me. So far the only ones I like are Flowering Nights, Wind God Girl, and Fate of Sixty Years. (to be fair, three of them are popular so I'm not surprised)
