Kasen’s a bit tricky to play with at first, but not too bad once you get used to her. She’s got good speed and great range with her melee attacks however on the flip side her ranged attacks leave something to be desired.

"A person who silences crying children" is indeed an idiom. From what I've read, it means that said person is someone fearful. "Don't cry, because this person will take you and do unspeakable things to you", like some sort of boogeyman. Or boogeywoman. As for Kasen's reason to go Outside, it's implied that she's looking for her arm. Not exactly an important plot point in the game, tho.

The reason Kasen is so secretive about her arm is because it's almost the size of her body and can punch holes in the hakurei barrier.

The reason why Mamizou went all evil pose when she discovered that the hole was to the outside world was because the whole purpose of Gensokyo was to stay out of the Outside world (well, what Yukari thinks) since the Outside world have science to disprove "youkai existence," they couldn't live there anymore. What Kasen did was a bit taboo in Gensokyo is what Mamizou implying

I'm guessing the editor hasn't read Wild and Horned Hermit, huh? The seal is featured in one of the chapters of the manga, although I can't remember which one it was exactly. In fact, Kasen's attack set is filled to the brim with references to the manga, this is pretty awesome for someone who is currently following the canon in sequence like me!

9:05 The reason Kokoro is using her hands to force a smile is actually a reference to her urban legend, the Kuchisake Onna (The slit-mouthed woman) Basically she is trying mimic having a mouth that's unnaturally large due to it being slit (Joker Style). The Kuchisake Onna is also why Kokoro sometimes wears a face mask and is asking "Am I pretty?"

Fun fact: if Kasen is indeed and Oni, that's all four Oni mentioned by suika. Kind of. I can't remember if PC98 era are 'canon'. I like to think so cause of Alice and Yuka.

I think the fourth oni was that one boss from Highly Responsive to Prayers. At least, that's the theory since PC-98 canon is rather dubious.

What happen in Pc-98 is cannon BUT if something about what happen in PC-98 is mentioned in Windows era and is different about that thing, then Windows Era cannon is superior in priority that PC-98, for exmaple. Alice in PC-98 wasa witch from the young age, in Windows Era she is human turned into magician. And because of early explanation Windows cannon is superior. If something isn't metioned in Windows era about PC-98 then cannon from PC-98 stay as it was.

Kasen has yet to be confirmed to be an oni even though it's really obvious. As for the PC98 era it most likely isn't canon due to just being a prototype for the rest of the series.

I've always wondered, how do you and your editor add comments together and sorta "talk" to each other on the video? Sharing video project files seems cumbersome, and transcribing a video call while watching together would be a huge hassle...

We always chat with our friends on a private Discord server. So I make a video and add my comments in and upload it to KZbin and keep it unlisted. Then we both go to a private channel, I link it to him and he watches it while pointing out any spelling or grammatical errors I made while also adding colorful commentary. I record this conversation we have and make annotations for his comments and fix any errors I got, produce _that_ video and then upload it as you see here.
