This is one of the best tribute video I've have ever watched in my entire life. And I have many reason I will give that share just a part of my passion for the Touhou Project. I have personally been a fan of Touhou for five years. I plan to be a fan of Touhou for the rest of my life. I will never forget the works done by ZUN and the the rest of wonderful people that helped to shape this marvelous fan base. I truly feel blessed to be a part of this humble following, I'm truly thankful for that. The day I found Touhou is the day I never really ever looked away from it. From that point on I've been enjoying Touhou pretty much every single day. And you know what's even better? It's been truly incredible to see there are so many fantastic people that have gather together and have a experience so perfect all because of Touhou and to reach out to ZUN himself during his stay for Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013. These days spend here must have been some of the most special for every Touhou fan there, and even ZUN himself. I wish I could have gone there to seen that historic weekend happen. There will never ever be anything else that is quite like the Touhou Project is now, it will always be something I hold very near and dear to my heart and I know that there are so many of you people out there that can agree with me on that much. With all this said; I mean to stress this aspect for as long as I live: The whole world is made better with Touhou. And I'm happy I got to live to experience the wonderful realm of Gensokyo.

I know this comment is six years old, but god, what I would give to be able to go to something like this. I came to Touhou in 2020, and it's just not at its peak here in the US anymore. It's hard to find Touhou fans around here, though lots of people have heard of it. I just wish more people knew about it, I'm getting emotional seeing so many Touhou fans in one place.
@DeityDiz933 жыл бұрын
@@williamtang899 I'd have no fear, Touhou really hasn't reached a halt, even in 2020, while true it isn't exactly at a 'peak', in the US, the series itself has continue to rise that reaches no end. 6 years on I can still enjoy it so much. It was actually a good year for Touhou in the US, ZUN's finally given an official website that host the first ever officially endorsed English Terms of Use, allowing for a new stint into the English speaking world for Touhou creations. They've already played around with some English translations within the games, so really it's an exciting time to be a Touhou fan, especially as more of the series comes to wider platforms like Steam, and iTunes for its musics. While the year has not been kind to most things, I believe that Touhou can rise again from it, especially in the western world, once the normal we've known before comes back, and as far as this old fan is concerned, a 2020 start is just as fine as my old 2008 start.
@williamtang8993 жыл бұрын
@@DeityDiz93 Glad to hear that! What I'd give for some official English translations. We could get a second golden age of western Touhou(western eastern lol) if more games get official translations on steam. For now, where would you recommend an English speaker to get Touhou games? Is Moriya Shrine the only option?
@DeityDiz933 жыл бұрын
@@williamtang899 Until Touhou games are fully released on Steam, many of the games are found on many online stores like the typical Amazon, and so on, but not always with reasonable shipping prices due to the pandemic, even where I'd usually recommend you go, AkibaHobby isn't delivering overseas right now. And while I'm happy the games have come to steam, I am more than happy to own physical copies and encourage people to get them as well as it's really nice to own the real deal, but a buy on steam goes directly to the creator right now since AkibaHobby isn't selling the games until Japan's situation improves, so I highly recommend that for directly supporting the series. The Moriya Shrine I do not recommend in good faith because it is piracy and does not support ZUN, as he asks that they be avoided especially by people in Japan. I'd *always* recommend checking online stores first before you even try Moriya Shrine, even if there is an argument to be made for getting it free, buying it later. The only grey area is the first fives games as they're technically abandonware until further notice, due to no longer being sold, so it's technically fine to get those, I recommend using Neko Project II if you are willing follow a few advanced setup guides or T98-Next if you don't like too much setup, and the great news is all of the English patching projects still work great! If you'd ever need help, let me know here, I can absolutely hook you up with direct links if need be!
@williamtang8993 жыл бұрын
@@DeityDiz93 Awesome, thanks! When I visit Japan after the pandemic is over, I'll definitely look for the games in Akihabara(though I might not go there; I usually visit South Japan rather than Tokyo, are the games available at normal Japanese Gaming stores?). And yeah, I'm more than happy to fork money over to support ZUN and I'm within the means to do so. But, are there any translated games available anywhere on the web? If not, I assume the fandom has already translated the text elsewhere.

Indeed, the Touhou community has always come across to me as one of those few genuinely happy fandoms; there's never a suspicion that they're faking it or just using the fandom as an outlet to be obnoxious clowns like plenty of other fandoms I see regularly.

Feel fortunate, though~! I can't believe I managed to put nearly every cosplayer I shot footage of into this video at all--and even then, not every cosplay made it in, which I really do feel bad about, nonetheless. :/
