Touhou FDF ~ Fantastic Danmaku Festival - No-Bomb Lunatic Clear

The limits have been shifted again. No-Bomb run of mine in Touhou FDF - mission complete! And it was definitely really worth to work on. And, I'm proud of it!

This run is just ridiculous. I haven't focused so much on doing a No-Bomb run, rather a No-Miss. But, after so many tries, in a moment on the first death in Stage 4, I decided to give it up and continue this run as a "No-Bomb" in hope that I'll beat it. Effects? The game is beaten. And I have lost some lives, no doubt. 5 on Stage 4, 5 on Stage 5, and 4 on Stage 6 (three of them only on Remilia's fight, where one of them was totally stupid. You'll see why.), so it's a pretty much good score for me.
But, it wasn't like I did it right from the bat. I've spent more that a week - about 15-20 hours - for practicing to this game. It was really difficult to solve and beat some of the attacks. You can see effects in this one, epic video. Effect of much of the effort and endless pain. But it was worth it.
Also, if I remember correctly, somebody has requested a capture of Remilia's survival spellcard on Lunatic [100 subs special. And that was just the beginning... ^^].
So, there you go. Both Remilia's survival and last spell has been captured.
So, I hope you'll really enjoy it as I was enjoying my epic win. TBH, my reaction after seeing Remilia blowing away was:

"OMG, did I really do it? ... I freakin' did it!!"
"Damn, that was really a close call. So, now let's hope I'll get an unbroken replay...."

Technically, a no-miss is way harder than the bomb equivalent. But you seems to get more bombs than lives overall, so a no bomb still isn't easy. Anyways, good job. And nice survival capture, I think I've never seen someone capture it.

(I saw this video entirely yesterday midnight 1 am but writing this comment took me an hour long and so. . .treat this at yesterday's comment.) And there it is, The Legend finally did it. Before my thoughts, Congrats on beating this run. Grab yourself some beer. (Or drinks that you consider it as "Beer" / "Wine" / "Sake" / "Vodka" / "You get my point") I'll grab my beer (Lemon Tea) and toast (I say Toast but I drink from bottle) for your victory. . .Tomorrow. As usual, I watched your entire video / run and my thoughts are never going to change when I see legends on the moves. All the "NOPE", "How?" are said, needless to say I "died" around 100 times throughout the video. Just goes to show my eyesight and skill level lol. For my thoughts, Stage One: Right off the bat, 0.35 have my attention. Get up close and personal and somehow dodged the bullets, Great. That's right, I most likely could not even dodge the bullets the small fairies shot if I was there. Same goes for the next moves you did to the next set of fairies. And already, 0.46, which is 11 seconds later, Same move with bullet removal effects. Holy hell. I have pretty much nothing to say about Nix except for her last spell card, I kind of see a pattern yet I don't so I just gonna assume it's more on RNG. Damn, You pretty much just sit there and shoot, freebie. Stage Two: (Yes, I am going to do this.) Nothing worth noting about to be honest. At least, until Dai comes in and after Dai. (You know, "Daiyousei") To be exact, Her Spellcard, I tried multiple times on Hard and boy, I cannot figure out the pattern. I am sure I have only 1 capture out of like. . . 10-15 attempts I did, and I don't even know how I did it. IIRC (If I Recall), You said that you had trouble with the part after Dai in the past, I wonder if you still have it now even. Because I still do have the problem with suicidal fairies and their aimed bullets, which is rather embarrassing. (I still play Normal. A reminder.) Well, Cirno. Just like EOSD, I already have trouble somehow. Her first non-Spell attack already got me plenty of times, Never confident on dodging them. While her first Spellcard is more of a "trick" sort of I guess, once you got the hang of the "trick", dodging it seems way easier. Except what I see here, That's a NOPE. 4.50. This move. I cannot. Nuff Said. 2nd Spellcard well, I died to it before but usually can capture for me. Rather simple honestly. The last one isn't of course, I never get to capture it. I don't know how do you even micro-dodge those damn things. And if you are not playing Patchy, That Dragon-Ball BS she have on the air gonna come down directly towards you while there's still leftover bullets. That's a lot of Bull. Yes, I died. Everytime. Stage Three: (Gonna be a long damn comment.) The stage itself is rather easy (If I say so) aside from Hoan Meiling. Mid-Boss Meiling already put me down plenty of times again. Especially her Spellcard. On Normal that one is another simple thing, Lunatic is a NOPE again. Hell, I already "died" on the first wave of the Spellcard, that's how NOPE it is gonna be for me. As for Meiling herself. . . Well, Let's just say that Memories of Phantasm (Fan-made anime) is a lie. 1st Non-spell attack. I died. It's just pure reflex and I don't have it. While her 1st Spellcard seems. . . manageable. 2nd Non-Spellcard attack, "Really? That's the only way to dodge it? Cool. Awesome." Meanwhile on her 2nd Spellcard, I have no idea what happened. 3rd Non-Spell Attack, Always a pain, Difficult. I just see no pattern on it, not even sure if misdirect is the right thing to do. 8.32 Pattern is just plain sight but execution is plain hard. Precision movements are needed as hell. And of course you pull it off like no problem. Cool. Stage Four: (Longest Comment Award here I come.) Annoying Elemental Stones in the beginning is just annoying if not playing as Patchy, Especially the Fire and the er Green ones. Those waves of books, sometimes can sometimes cannot dodge, Not sure why. Poker Tower, how do one even gonna dodge that? Misdirect? Because it seems that way in this run of yours and you still died. Koakuma. Cool. First non-Spell already instant NOPE. Hell, you even got trapped. Treat or Trick is obvious pattern but just like Meiling, Hard to execute, Time to time I pull that one off. Man. 2nd non-Spell is just NOPE. Instant again. That speed is just stupid. There it is, Explosive Pumpkins, her 2nd Spellcard. Just how do you even gonna dodge that shit? Misdirect is what you tried to pull off but also gonna have to somehow micro-dodge the thing? Even on Normal that thing is impossible for the likes of me lol. Ah yes, The Hard and Lunatic only Spellcard. (2nd Last Spellcard.) Captured it quite a few times, Not that hard but not easy either. Perfect difficulty for me. Stage Five: (I know my comment become shit mid-way.) Stage Five itself is honestly and I don't know why, not much of a issue for me. The problem is Koakuma and Sakuya. Speaking of Koa, Why the hell does her non-spell in this stage is easier than normal somehow? THOSE GAPS ARE SOOO WIDE OPEN. In Normal I had to squeeze like perfect frame BS 4 times with Marisa. That's dumb. Koa's Spellcard in this stage well, I found myself clearing it at a higher rate if I just stare at where are the Red bullets instead of any other things. I can only say that for Easy to Hard but Lunatic. . .I hope that's also the case. 15.51 Wow. Just wow. Pros / Legends way of streaming. Just insane. And you still manage to stream your way out of that. Wow. I was so sure you are dead. I'll just put my thoughts on Sakuya as "Basically". Sakuya is just NOPE entirely, Each and every barrage she made, I have issues. I can say for certain that I "died" 30-50 times on Sakuya alone. That's too much. 16.52 Well, there goes the practice runs. Not like I can talk shit, I can't even do shit lol. 17.11 The Red Lasers can sometimes be rather "deceiving", I go on a safe spot and bam, still got skewered. And let's not talk about the those fast knifes. Hard is already hard enough. (Yes, I died to those instead.) 17.37 I have no idea how this work at all. It looks like you know the trick about it but man, the trick is just well hidden. (I don't wanna talk about 18.03, I cannot comprehend.) Stage Six: (If you are still even reading this.) 18.51 AGAIN. THAT MOVE AGAIN. HOW? No bomb in the Golden Knights, man. Painful. I died 5 times on it. Nix, Well. . .That one tiny bit of health. . .I'm sorry to see that. Her Spellcard on the other hand, Man. Marvelously done. And I am certain that this one is 100% RNG. Those bullets are just plain BS. Remilia herself? Speechless. I cannot even think to dodge a single attack from her and yet, You just dodged like 80% of it. Seriously? 80%? Against THAT? Oh FFS. I'm just watching you doing it and I still feel pressure, That's the level I'm talking about, Sakuya also did this to me but not as much. You fking kidding me? Oh my hell. I don't need to put it as one by one, ALL of her attacks in Lunatic. NOPE. Hard, I cannot even handle 50% of Hard. Lunatic, is just insane. 22.03 and her Survival Card especially, How do you even? 22.03 is one thing but that Survival Card is plain, PLAIN Ridiculous. Normal version have gotten me pressured like hell, Hard Is not doable for the likes of me, Lunatic is way out of my mind. Small windows to get through. Hell. No. By the way, Thanks for experimenting whether you will die if you touched Remilia's throne. That's a lesson for all of us. And I think that last Spellcard moment. . .I think you want to register that one part on "Top 10 Touhou Most Pressuring Situation of All time". Because that is too much. I think that moment alone took away 5 years of your life. Pretty sure the last Spellcard is also more on RNG if I'm honest. Not saying (or implying) that you got the run cause RNG is lenient, Just a thought on it. I mean, Look at the purple bullets spawned from her bats. How you gonna explain that? TL:DR, I "died" 100 times watching it, Saw plenty of bold and BS moves like 0.46 and 18.51. Just my overall experience in this game so far (EX Stage aside). I will and still be calling you a Legend. That is not gonna change for a long time if not, Forever. So you don't have to worry about it. Although again, I hope this doesn't pressure you or anything. That would be bad. So which do you think is more harder to do? No Bomb or No Miss? (Basically No Die) Perfect run is both of them so it's obvious. But which is more harder? I feel like both are around the same, Just that No Miss is basically using bombs as "Extra lives" if you deathbomb that is. Regardless, This is quite a experience for you I suppose. Once again, Congrats for beating your 1st Lunatic No-Bomb run. Magnificent Show. (Next thing you tell me is that you are going to do Touhou FDF - ENB run (No not the Skyrim program thing, it's Extra No Bomb) after EOSD, I swear to hell if you do. . .)

Sure. You gonna need ALL the breaks you can get. Oh and I forgot to mention that I did not list down my thoughts on Lunatic-Only Spellcards because I have no experience on them. (As I have never even touched Lunatic even once.) So my thoughts on them is automatic "Fuck No. Hell No. *Cue Rainbow Six Las Vegas 2 Jung says "Negative, I cannot.*" By Lunatic-Only Spellcards I mean, Hong Meiling's Last Spellcard, Koakuma's Last Spellcard, Sakuya's 2nd Last Spellcard.

+Last Sin Yup, I had a "Beer", don't worry xD OK, I think I will do the same thing and summarize comment in similar way: - Stage 1: Well, those of the "tricks" I had to practice many times before it become useful, I mean, without live loss. Actually, the easiest stage here. - Stage 2: I think Dai has sniffed too much flowers before... (who would think it could make an effect like that? XD) About the rest.. Welp. It's pretty much easy to do with Patchy. With others characters it's still a pain. Cirno? Fact, she IS hard in parts you mentioned. The rest is much like memorizing and staying calm. - Stage 3: Hoan Meiling kicked me out many times, too. To be honest: no matter what, the only way to do that sh*t is to have a lot of luck. A LOT. Eventually you just need to practice this stage at least hundreds times. Then it can be somehow beatable for ya. _(Yup, Memories of Phantasm is a lie...)_ - Stage 4: Again, Patchy makes the overall game slightly (ok, ok... much, but not always) easier. Because of that she is a good char. for doing runs like that :P "Poker Tower" - it's kinda sort of a misdirect, but for these bubble bullets. It's not perfect, but it seems to be the only good way to do this. Also, staying on one certain line (where cards are vanishing for a while) is the key, but it's easier said than done. "Koa" has incredibly difficult spellcards to pull off. Nons are possible to beat, but it requires from you to memorize the order of moving and order of the patterns (at the beginning, after first spell, second spell etc.). The rest, excluding the second spell, is _obviously_ difficult, yet doable. - Stage 5: Just like you said. About 15:51 - I thought here I am dead, too! (sometimes I wonder how the heck I'm beating it) Sakuya is a badass if you wanna get my opinion. Everything here is about micrododging and predicting the next waves. One bad move and you fail (Yup, I think now about the first spell). Each spell made me frustrated at least 20 times during all my runs I made up to now. So, yeah, this is insane. - Stage 6: Hey hey hey, I read all the comments. Always. :D Umm... TBH - it's still remain a mystery how the heck I did it.. Seriously xD Nix again, and again I could easily screw it up. This is purely RNG. But all that sh*t was mandatory to beat the rest, since a tiny fatal move and I could end all this here or on the Remilia's spells. Remilia fight is also a some kind of mystery for me. I think Moriya Shrine has blessed me for duration of this fight. Especially in Survival and Last Spell. But after survival and that stupid death... I wasn't thinking about Stress anymore. I was just like "Just DO IT", "Beat that badass and grab your victory, dude". But, the pressure was damn high. Look after Remilia's bubble things. Look after bats and positioning. And look after purple boolets. And knives. OMG!! But, after all, I was very relief. (in my personal opinion, survival is purely a static tactic, combined with extreme level of micrododging. Truly hell TBH. Especially when you have to beat additional spell after that... ) Harder could be No Miss since you need to manage a proper bombing and deathbombing. But the resource amount (and, obviously, the amount of deaths) is somehow higher than in a No-Bomb, so both are similarly difficult. And, thanks again for watching, enjoying my precious epic run, and for comment of course :DD FDF Extra NM/NB - maybe soon. Now I'm taking a rest ;)

Wow, pretty... It looks like they use a blend mode (probably luminosity) for the bullet glow that gives it that gorgeous vibrant glow, whereas I think ZUN just layers colour. Small thing, but it looks really gorgeous, and I didn't know that was a thing you could do on a game engine.

I wonder how you can get Patchouli's "burst"/charge attack out without affecting the normal bullets you shoot by holding Z. ...so far, I've only been able to clear some stages on Easy (gotta start somewhere, right?). I have several problem when playing this game. 1. whe I shoot down fairies, it's popped very bright color 2. some of the bullets are too fast to dodge, 3. It crashes after stage 1 boss It's likely a graphical problem, but I don't know what to do. I have no problem with FDF 2 though

emm i already played this one its not that hard reason? im lag :V because of that i 1 cc extra first time i played :V and surprise her last spellcaed i beat it B) with no miss, i have a request can you play LoLK lunatic perfect? i only saw 1 player that could do it i know LoLK is hardest touhou game in touhou series -_- doremy sweet nonspell is harder than yuyuko,remilia, and kanako nonn spell in same difficulty so it will be twice as hard than any other touhou series

Well, it's hard to say anything about making the game easier, since it's all about skills. You can apply a hitbox patch to EoSD to see your fragile point. Keep in mind that bullets hitboxes aren't as huge as their appearance/sprite, especially a hitbox of huge bubble is much smaller than it looks. Try not to bomb - play like that as much as possible to raise your skills and to know your possibilities about dodging all that sh*t. You can try playing with Marisa. Without homing bullets you teach yourself how to target enemies properly. I'll make some sort of tutorial about Touhou. IDK when. But I shall do it.
