You know by now that I’m the kind of person where "everything has to have meaning," so you must trust most lines are aimed at capturing some relevant point of the CD story -- about the state of the society in the girls' era, about the weird type of patrons who visit the bar, about the visions Merry captures in her magic mirror, etc. They surely make a lot more sense if you read the original works. I explained some of it in my Tumblr commentary. As I also noted in that commentary, the overall tone of these lyrics in particular was further inspired by the attitude of "chuunibyou." Which means, I was especially *trying* to make them sound pretentious and “cryptic.” Sorry for being contrary, but I actually really take it as a compliment that it came across that way. This "chuuni" theme about the power of creative pretentiousness is something I talk about so obnoxiously much because it really means a lot to me -- like, if people take something away from my writing to start thinking about, that’s one of the big themes I’d like them to take away. It’s a very relevant motif, in my opinion, to my all-important main philosophy of "transcending boundaries."

It is the first track in the Dateless Bar Old Adam CD. It's a very trippy CD as a whole which is about Maribel and Renko going to a bar which is known for people who 'see strange things'. They go to see if they can find out more about Gensokyo and then find someone claiming to be Dr. Latency. (But they kinda just brush it off IIRC) They get drunk and have fun with mirrors. I suggest you check it out.

I didn't watch this right away, because I'm not super interested in the Sealing Club side of things- but I'm sad I didn't. This is a delightful little tune, and it's a fun time. Also, I don't know how hard Lori was trying to act drunk- but the delivery was fantastic. Overall, I think you sang this one better than you usually do too. All in all, a great time was had.

(Thanks for the correction.~ My girlfriend is also my best friend, of course, but I really like it to be known that we're not dateless.) We did *not* get drunk, though I'm glad the drunk voices were convincing -- especially Renko's, in my opinion. Neither of us actually drink at all. One time, we had like two small cups of some fruity alcohol at a convention and we ended up getting emotional and crying over something irrelevant. It didn't do anything cool like let us see more boundaries or turn into youkai... Disclaimer: please don't try drinking if you're underage!

Does it...?;; They may be "childlike" in their attitude toward adventures, but they are legal adults. They're college students, and them drinking in this CD's story is legitimate canon. I'd like to say I'm very sorry if anyone is uncomfortable with themes of alcohol. I actually don't drink, myself, and I think getting super drunk is a very bad thing to do to your body. However, drinking is a pretty huge part of Touhou culture and ZUN's inspiration, so I felt it was appropriate.
