I may be mistaken, but is the subject of the song "star"? "Burning bright, heat and light" are obvious enough, "illuminating the coming course" because the stars are used to navigate. "See the magic sign" refer to how stars are used in magic symbols like pentagrams and Star of David. "Stretching in never-ever-ending line" may be about constellations and "against the cool and dark" is obviously the night sky. It's very riddle-like, like your Locked Girl lyrics.

Incidentally, the "Pantagram" and "Star of David" that often pop up in Japanese magic are references to the Gobousei, the five-pointed star that the famous onmyouji Abe no Seimei used to illustrate how the five elements both create and destroy each other (Water feeds Wood, Wood fuels Fire, Fire fertilizes Earth, Earth produces Metal, Metal carries Water; Water puts out Fire, Fire melts Metal, Metal cuts down Wood, Wood covers the Earth, Earth displaces Water) and the Rokubousei, the crest of the Hata family.

I think "magic sign" may be referring to her spellcard names. She loves using stars and the moon as danmaku, so they're "signs" of magic. And the journey may be any odd journey from night to day, or day to night, as the signs of the day become the signs of the night, being stolen back and forth.
