Touhou 妖怪狐狸合戦 ~ War of Fox and Badger (Danmakufu) - Full Route Lunatic 1cc

Catastrophe War of Fox and Raccoon Dog is another entry in the line of Touhou fangames.
It doesn't show in the replay, but the way this game works is that you pick the order of the stages yourself. And each stage that you pick next will have higher rank and bosses will have more spellcards.
So for example the way this run is build up is:
Hakurei Shrine - Rank 0
Moriya Shrine - Rank 1
Hakugyokurou - Rank 2
Scarlet Devil Mansion - Rank 3
Forest of Magic - Rank 4
Final Stage - Rank 5
I picked Hakurei Shrine first because it's complete hell on high rank.
It's worth noting that you only need to beat three stages to access the final stage. If you go to the final level early it will be at a lower respective rank. So the earliest will be rank 3.
The player characters you can pick in this game are Ran and Mamizou. If you pick Mamizou as your character than Ran will be the final boss.
The system in this game seems to revolve around the green barrier. Once you fill up the green bar up you can unleash a very short bomb that turns all items into green items. The trick is timing it when a lot of items are on screen so that you can regain most of your green bar in an instant.
I love how every single Touhou fangame these days has laser wheels in them.

Holy hell, what a good-looking fangame! Haven't seen much of those lately. What's the moon counter for? What is this game even about? Ran vs. Mamizou?

I don't know if it comes from the original game title or its translation but as a tanuki fanboy I'm super triggered Mamizou is depicted as a "badger" in the title because tanukis are not inspired from them (nor from racoons). I know that's a stupid thing to make a fuss about but I wish people would check their facts better, everyone would get angry if I called Ran a dog (which she obviously isn't) Other than that the game looks really good and has many interesting patterns, I may give it a try >w>

I found this game to be so hard in the last levels, when you do all the stages it gets really hard pretty quickly

Wow. What do you mean by stage 1 Reimu is the easiest Reimu? Sanae is meh. Her theme is a bit cool though. Youmu's last spellcard's yellow swing is awesome. Sakuya's last spellcard = Sakuya just goes Remilia. Marisa's not the usual straightforward Marisa today. She's got some strategy. Holy Yukari's messing around again. Hi there Mami-Kyouko. Continuous bullet shapeshift is awesome. Mami-Murasa is so Murasa-ish. Truly something like drowning. Mami-Ichirin is meh. Mami-Shou's rich in reflecting both Mamizou and Shou. *failed puns intended* HOLY ROWS OF BYAKURENS. and what's with the last spellcard - -? I don't understand it. Also, would be good to see Ran as the last boss, and Reimu as the last boss too.

I think what he said is that Reimu on any other rank is hell, so he picked her first so he wouldn't deal with her on higher rank.

I downloaded the game cause I nearly died from happiness once I found out Ran was playable. It came with everything it should need to play it, such as danmakufu, the scripts players, etc... But when I go to play it, I pull the thing up, go to directory, click YKK, and when i try to scroll over "Play", Danmakufu just closes out. Someone please help me with this if you can.

+Helio Knight You need to run your computer in Japanese locale, because danmakufu does not support unicode characters. Start Menu ---> Control Panel ---> Clock, Language, and Region ---> Change Location ---> Administrative ---> Change System Locale.

It honestly feels like most boss spellcards should have 30-50% more hp. Other than that, it looks gorgeous

I downloaded the game, but it won't work when I try to open it. It keeps saying "cannot file open path". I made sure I extracted the folder using the Japanese AppLocale, and I started up th_dnh with Japanese AppLocale too. What am I missing? It's the exact folder that's given there...
