2023 RAM 3500 trucks are supposed to have an Allison transmission option. all around best config. Put AEV config on the truck, the Overland Explorer tray and HBE camper to make the best setup. so nice now with the bamboo countertops. Basecamp-S used the bamboo cutting board for the kitchen sink lid. Maybe 2024 models will have this updated in HBE model. only a guess

if you add a pass-thru to the driver's seat from the "house" then I'm sold.

Great video and fun to see. Some additional info for viewers;. Like all other OEV campers, OEV has renamed the "CAMP-HBE (Hudson Bay Edition)". Moving forward, it will be called simply the "Hudson Bay" (if you are looking for this model on their website). The newer version of this camper now has the toilet on a slide-out from under the dinette bench (either cassette toilet option or a portable toilet). The big cabinet now houses the batteries in the bottom, still has the adjustable shelves, but since not used for toilet any longer, the top of the cabinet no longer flips up. OEV has moved from the REDARC Manager 30 all-in-one controller/battery monitor/charger to individual Victron products. The Truma cabin heater outlet is no longer by your legs in the dinette; it has been routed so the outlet now points out into the cabin, which was a great update so people seated in the dinette don't overheat. The two side windows are not standard (and I don't believe they are even an option on the Hudson Bay). Those windows are featured on a different model. The cot/bunk bed is optional. Truma controller is for both the Truma cabin heater and the Truma instant hot water heater. The fridge is 164 liters; Some may like that, but much too large for a camper of this size in my opinion. Our CAMP-X has a 65 liter and its more than enough for 3 to 4 day weekends. And we make due on the 10-day trips we do regularly. Would like to see an option for an smaller fridge in the 80 to 100liter size and then the extra room made into useable storage. The walls are honeycomb composite construction. The joints use an aluminum extrusion. The panels are bonded at the extrusion and extrusion joints are bonded and riveted. R8 rated hard walls and R4 softwalls is correct. You can use the camper in winter, but will want to winterize the outside shower and drain/bypass the water heater. If interior temps will fall below freezing at any time on your winter trip, winterize the entire water system and plan on not using it. This version in the video has the optional electric soft top lift which means there are extra windows in the front and rear of the soft top; The manual lift version has soft top windows only along the sides. We moved from another slide-in pickup camper brand to the OEV brand after dealing with condensation in the other brand for too many years. And, we liked the composite construction and top end cabin heater, water heater, charging components and all interior construction and materials (aluminum cabinets and Starboard faces). Have put our CAMP-X (now called the Backcountry) through the ringer on mountain trails regularly and after 3 years, still love it.

Great tour. Thank you. What size tires is the truck on and what is the total height of this setup when the roof is down?

Thank you! We’ll see if we can’t get you the specs. If it’s easier, you can call our team at the shop and someone can share the full build details with you. Cheers!

awesome. thanks for posting this. torn between Alu-Cabin platform instead. but what about best solution for the 37" spare? or what if the XL 40"?

A 37 in spare will fit on the rear spare tire bracket. We haven't tested a 40, but it would be a question for OEV.

Yes, a 37" fits under a SuperDuty in the spare section. @@woolengrappler

The Hudson Bay models start at $71k and vary based on length and options. The tray is an additional expense starting at $13k and varying the same. Those prices don’t include installation and any other vehicle/suspension mods.
