La Boqueria market started from 1217, when tables were installed near the old city gate to sell meat. In December 1470 , it even became a pig market
The current name derives from the Catalan "boc", meaning "goat", therefore a boqueria would be a place where goat meat is sold.
Now a day, it's a huge market where You'll find everything you need
Beautiful fresh seafood,meats and jamon,fruits and vegetables,spices, nuts, and dry ingredients, you can spend hours browsing through the colorful walkways of the market.
It's one of the top food markets in the world,
