Pretty cool 😎 hunt and congrats 🎉🍾 to the crew and Brady for his first black bear 🐻. What a beaut of a color phase bear. That Browning Hells Canyon is one sweet rifle (not sure what caliber it is), but it’s only as good as the trained person pulling the trigger. What a great way to bypass the no motorized vehicles rule with some nice mountain bikes. 😎👍💪

Talk about down to the wire! Beauty bear boys, should be tasty...that steep blowdown scene is exactly why the mountain bike is pretty useless for hunting lots of coastal BC, always get a bit jealous when I see how useful they are in other areas!

Not trying to naysay, but there is a second bear in the frames right before the shot. In the timber, a little lower and left of the bear that is shot. Did you take a boar or a sow? Hopefully the second bear wasn’t a cub.

I went to a big box store in Florida and bought a bike to ride trails with and hunt hogs. My ass got so sore so fast. I, too was immediately looking to McGyver a way into better comfort. Eventually you just ride standing up. It never really got better because the pigs were rooting up the trails into miniature moguls. Your hunt reminded me of that. That was some pretty brutal bear hunting. Way to stick with it. Thats tenacity. Up here in Alaska, I spot and stalk them with my boat. Works better at my age :-)

You guys just converted me to mountain bike hunting. Guess I should check out Walmart for my next hunting tool haha. Have you guys ever tried predator calling for bears? I tried it once (only hunted bears once though) and I didn't bring in a bear, but I think the idea still has merit.
@GOHUNT5 жыл бұрын
Haha Walmart has you covered! But yeah we didn't try any predator calling but I have heard of people finding success using that tactic.

@sneakybow15 жыл бұрын
Looks like a Browning Hells Canyon, maybe a 300WSM? The caliber is just a guess though.
@WhyWeHunt5 жыл бұрын
I’m wondering the same. What caliber do you guys like for bear at long distance like that? I’m thinking about a 7mm mag. Thoughts?
@sneakybow15 жыл бұрын
Talked to Brady at Hunt Expo on Friday. It's a Hells Canyon 300 Win Mag. I thought it may have been a 300WSM, but he confirmed it's a 300 Win Mag.
@GOHUNT5 жыл бұрын
Hey Josh. Like sneakybow1 mentioned, Brady is using a Browning Hells Canyons speed in 300 Win Mag and on this hunt, he was using 200 grain Hornady ELD-X. He is a huge fan of 30 cals for all big game hunts.
