Tour de Fleece 2022: One week, one skein

Hello friends! The Tour de Fleece finally started last week. I had a hard time restraining myself from starting to spin the beautiful and soft fluff I was able to comb out of that dirty fleece. Join me as I try to spin every day during the Tour de France. In one week I was able to spin one skein of yarn, 18 wraps per inch and 450 metres long. That means I spun 1350 meters in total, over a kilometer!

You always feel like you're in a fantasy novel to me. Like an earth mage sitting in her garden and a little gnome of some sort i might just come over to enjoy the company and play with the floofs. Then you'll return inside to find that brownies have gathered up the stray wool and left it for you in a neat pile.

Having binged myself through mist of your videos I noticed through my notifications there were several I hadn’t seen yet… now it’s loads of fun to see the origins of the cycling sweater’s yarn being ‘born’ etc. Now I’m seriously considering doing a Tour De Fleece of sorts. No idea if I’ll join a group. But the idea of structuring my vague and chaotic spinning plans into some sort of achievable goal for three weeks definitely is appealing! Edit: Your mentioning TDF 2022 being your first because the year before you didn’t have a spinning wheel yet resonates: last year during TDF I didn’t own a spindle or a spinning wheel. I as up to my gills in boxes, having to move out temporarily for renovations to my home. I ‘discovered’ spinning during my stay elsewhere. What seemed like a nightmare did contain a blessing: a new happy place fiddling with fibre. Yay!
