So Lance here finishes in 8;59, admittedly young, inexperienced as an individual TT-ist, with a poor position and no doubt a pretty un-aerodynamic bike. 6 years later, post cancer and a few kilos lighter does 8:02 over the identical 6.8km course. A 57 second improvement, no wonder he had them laughing in the press gallery.
