I know the joy of giving away bikes to underprivileged kids! As a kid I had a paper-route. Every day I put 20 miles on my Huffy. That took constant maintenance and repairs. I started scavenging bikes from junkyards and garbage day. After 2 years I had alot of bikes. Dad came in his garage and told me to get rid of my prize collection. I gave a few to friends, but still had many more. Someone told me of an orphanage near me, and said they need bikes. My circulation manager was the only guy I knew with a truck so he agreed to load up 7 bikes and take them to the orphanage. I was able to keep giving them bikes for a few years till I lost my garage. Love your channel and your adventures! I really appreciate your giving bikes to underprivileged kids!

I just started volunteering for R Community Bikes here in Rochester, NY. It's been very fulfilling seeing disenfranchised families receive free bikes. Last night we built 110 donated kids bikes to give away to a local school. These are great causes and a way to give back. Best of luck to the charity reaching its goal and to everyone helping others in need.

I’m in. I had my hip replaced 6 years ago and 3 months later I fell on some black ice and broke my femur on the same leg. Cycling videos like Ryan’s kept me going for the 4 months of no walking. Started biking as therapy asap and haven’t stopped since. Hopefully my small donation can get a kid on a bike and they can feel the freedom it provides. God bless

Oh boy, this kid can do with a machine like that. Pity the $ - R exchange will cripple me. "But I can cycle there and cycle back with a new machine" 😅 Good luck with the fundraising. You guys are doing a wonderful job. #kudos. and love from Cape Town. Regards, Tony

Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles. Safe protected bike lanes and trails are needed so adults and children can ride safely. Speak up for bicycles in your community. Bicycles make life and cities better. Ask your local transportation planner and elected officials to support more protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be riding a bicycle to school and not be driven in a minivan.
@KJSvitko6 ай бұрын
Retail bicycle outlets need to do more to encourage young people and older adults to ride bicycles. Sponsoring bike trains to escort children on their rides to school would be a great start. Organizing volunteers, teachers and other to ride along would be a great start. Getting children out of minivans and onto bicycles would be healthy exercise, build independence and make society healthier. Fun ride should also be organized. Getting a local bike club or school to sponsor an annual event to a local park or trail would encourage both adults and children to ride bicycles. Getting local elected officials to help with sponsored activities would help to educate them about the need for safe, protected bike lanes and trails in their community. Offering space and coffee for local riders to meet up would also improve store traffic.
