Great video! Much pleasure seeing those who are interested with native plants. I'm trying my hand at the game of native. Stuck cuttings of Mountain Laurel, Solidago, etc last year and looking forward to seeing how they do. Much more planned for this year... Thank you for sharing this video with us!

My 4Runner is definitely pointed toward Burnsville in the few next weeks. Burnsville is such a wonderful little community in Yancey county, my favorite western NC county for its natural beauty, especially the Cane and the Toe rivers.

Too cool. I wish I had such a place in Pennsylvania. There really should be a nationwide database of spots like this.

Looks like a fabulous place. I gave up on azaleas when they all perished of spider mites.

Hi! Off topic question. I recently planted some Phlox and mulched with a couple old bags I had in the garage. I’ve noticed some white patches of fungus growing on the mulch with my daily watering. Should I discard old mulch or let it dry in the sun first?

That’s slime mold, which will go away pretty quickly. I wouldn’t worry about it.
