Interesting video! While Aldwych itself is quite famous, and several other disused stations are remembered too (namely the jubilee platforms at Charing Cross), it's easy to forget that it's mirrored by platforms at Holborn. Come to think of it, I'm not sure there's much known imagery of these platforms (certainly the first time I'd seen them), so thanks for sharing!

There is also a sub-station in the old lift shafts, hence all the power cables in passageways.

FYI - it's not a green light at 4:10 it's a lens flare caused by the lights on the wall opposite.

Actually the green light is a refection of the light opposite, the reflection is between the various elements of the cameras lens, the colouration comes from the coating on the elements.

Out of interest, is it known why they chose to use the crossover rather than just keeping a straight tunnel open?

Possibly , the whole section of tiles was removed by ( unnamed ! ) L U L employee to tile his toilet ( an estate agent's premier selling point , in Dalston? ? ) ..........................

If the planned upgrade to this station goes ahead, this platform will become a new passenger tunnel. I hope they keep some of the original tiling (which can be seen behind the test panels) or even replicate it. It's the only remnants of the station's Leslie Green origins left.

MatchAttax IRL We all know that but there are disused platforms (5 & 6) that lead to Aldwych station. These two platforms and the entire Aldwych branch of the Piccadilly line was shut down. Now there is a white plastic wall at the end of the staircase where iron bars were that you could see into. He got exclusive access to the disused platforms at Holborn station

Interesting enough, but the dodgy grammar and punctuation on display is a turn-off.
