Finally got to work on an AC1 parkour sequence! I'm really happy with some of the interactions, vaults, and the routing that they help achieve. On top of that, I wanted to focus on the nearly overwhelming and lively atmosphere of Jerusalem.
Hope you enjoy!

Truly the best AC1 parkour I've seen by far. It would be cool to see these advanced parkour tactics displayed during missions, like those informant missions where you need to kill Templars, flag collections, or even during certain Templar kill missions like the one where you deal with that book burning Templar and his other men disguised as him.

And for some very peculiar reason, Ubisoft thinks this parkour style wouldn't be interesting enough for the young brainwashed audience, since it requires more than 3 brain cells. Although this already 16-year-old mechanic is objectively the most advanced and imerssive parkour system ever achieved. So we get snapy and overly simplified "parkour" in "back to the roots" AC Mirage. Not only we haven't learned the lesson, but Ubisoft is still more than capable to scam us with a couple of buzzwords. By the way I still can't wrap my had around the fact you pull of all these moves perfectly all the time. This is whole other level. P.S. After completely skipping Odyssey and Valhalla, I did subscribe to Ubisoft+ couple of days ago, in a desperate hope I would find a glimp of my childhood, but of no avail. To all of you who still believe ubisoft will one day ressurect the masterpiece (me included), don't. Don't let them use our own hopes against us anymore. Enough of that.

Ay, hope you'll have great fun with it! Not sure how familiar you are with AC2 - Revelations movement, which would definitely help, but it all boils down to slowly learning new tech, and practicing it a good bit, pushing your creativity as far as you can. The rest just depends on how well versed in classic movement you are already, on top of working with some quirks specific to AC1, both good and bad ones. In short, make sure to maintain button discipline, try to read your environment as well as possible as the entirety of it is your playground, slowly learn to apply your expanding mechanical knowledge through a good bit of practice and have patience, both with yourself and the game.

@@animusdrifter sounds great advice. I have one more question. Do you play AC on consoles or pc? I need to know bc I'm gonna play on pc the next week.
@animusdrifter
@animusdrifter 7 ай бұрын
@@KhoaHoVoang Oh i play everything on PC, which actually brings me to an important point for running AC1 on a good enough pc (which is every pc today lol), and it's that you have to make sure vsync is turned on, and also externally lock the game to 60 fps if possible. Vsync being off can screw up leap of faith landings because of how the game internally handles them, potentially causing a hard landing on the hay and desyncing you, and fps above 60 (or if unlocked, even if it's set to 60Hz in game) causes Altair to freeze up after a certain amount of airtime in big, freeform jumps. The latter isn't the biggest deal, but can be a bit annoying when you want to make bigger, risky leaps.

@@kaino25 I usually prefer controller for recording, but setting it up for AC1 takes a bit longer so I was instead lazy and went for kbm, but as I'm proficient with both, it was fine lol The reasons i usually prefer a controller for choreo recording are smoother camera controls and movement omnidirectionality that doesn't require a camera input, though.

It’s the lighting. They could get in loads of detail because it only presents 1 time of day, and if doesn’t have to be dynamic. Each mission is essentially a painting at that point. The series only ever surpassed this game graphically speaking after Black Flag I think, but stylistically the series is still behind the first game

You don't have to queue up contextual vaults in midair like that. That's just for air vaults. Just hold open hand as soon as you connect with the adjacent object
@animusdrifter
@animusdrifter Жыл бұрын
Indeed yeah, it was possible to avoid holding empty hand so early, but I just focused on getting the direction and landings right after a good few tries to the point where muscle memory took over for the vault - will do my best to do it cleaner in the next one

Man, they don't make games like this anymore. Assassin's Creed 1 is one of my favourite games of all time, the vibe of the original game is UNMATCHED. Masyaf and Damascus in the Abbasid Age, the Crusaders patrolling the streets, the Order of Assassins, and the Sci-fi going on with the Animus and Abstergo and the Pieces of Eden Where did Ubisoft go so wrong? Also, your gameplay is amazing dude, best I've seen on KZbin
