Are these as soft or softer than the Melt foam roller? I bought the Melt method foam roller and the various therapy balls a few years ago, but I still find it too intense to stay with it very long and the rolling out of the hands and feet seems to always cause pain in my body afterwards, usually somewhere else that I wasn't even working on. The problem is that these pains are often debilitating and leave me unable to walk or use an arm or hand after. Also, is it possible that I've made my low back/hip situation worse by trying to roll it out on my Melt roller? I'm seeing an Ortho next week for an X-ray guided shot in the hip, not sure yet if it is anti-inflammatory or epidural type of shot yet. I have a left leg that is shorter causing scoliosis and the entire pelvic girdle to sit uneven. I also have bone on bone arthritis in that hip and degenerating disks in low back. Your video for IT band helps a lot with the sciatic type pain. I do that pedeling motion all the time now when stretching the hamstrings. It can be quite painful, but so helpful after. With my situation is it contraindicated to even use the foam roller on my back at all? The only magic I've seen happen when using it was an exercise for the hamstrings and it worked wonders, but it is more indirect shearing motion than actually weight bearing rolling.

no, they are not softer. I hope you are working with a skilled physical therapist who has some expertise in hips. Please see one (even telehealth works well)! Since you have had negative reactions to self myofascial release, I would get some professional guidance and softer devices, or a more comprehensive course like my Way of the Happy Fascia course yogaanatomyacademy.teachable.com/p/way-of-the-happy-fascia
