Just did a recording session in Studio C yesterday. Loved it!!!! I had so much fun! Great sounding room as well.

I was lucky enough to work here in maintenance in the early/mid 90’s. It truly is a gem...I’m so glad Chieko and Kirk Imamura kept it so intact for all their years of management as Avatar. Can’t wait to come back and check out Berklee’s revision.

Intressting that finally someone is thinking of changing the game of large format studio work and at the same time conserving a gem like powerstation/avatar. More studios needs to be saved.

This is where John Mayer wrote and recorded "In Repair" in the span of one day. Gorgeous studio.

It is nice to see large studios not dying off.

Wonder if they preserved Chamber one (the front stairwell) and Chamber two (the downstairs bathroom). Great memories…..

2:14 .... HAHA ... He must be speaking of The Hit Factory which was located just a block away at 421 W. 54tth Street, which was also across the street from Sony Studios. The Hit Factory was the world's finest recording studio, and by far and away the greatest studio in Manhattan with the most powerful name recognition and legacy behind it. Around 2005 the building was sold and it became condominiums, indeed. The worst part is these new condominiums retained the Hit Factory name. So what, though. What dork would care about the Hit Factory so much that he'd want his place to carry its name? I don't get that part.

The name dropping became exhausting pretty fast.. why couldn't there be more focus on the friggin gear and acoustics.. isn't that supposed to be the strength of the place, other than past glory?

Creator's Remorse. Creativity is about inspiration. If you understand the history of the space you can’t help but be inspired. I wouldn’t go to the Louvre and wonder how the mechanical systems worked. It’s about the art that has roots in inspiring spaces.
