My husband sent his telescope on Monday and it was installed and up and running by Saturday night. He is so excited! We live in an area with lots of large old leafy trees and really have no view of the sky. This changes everything for him!

Thank you for the update. I am so happy to see such great progress and success. Glad to be live with my scope at SFO since late August. It has been an incredible experience.

I couldn't be more jealous, you are living my dream 😅 Cant wait to see the full journey of this project over the years and maybe I will have a scope there in the future 👀

I'm so please for you guys that this is really taking off and opening up access to dark skies for so many people. Still thinking about about getting a scope setup out there at some stage but might have to wait for buildings 6 and 7 😃.

You are doing God's work here, trailblazing the way for us lowly amateurs so that we may have affordable access to dark skies and have a home for our equipment to use from. Thank you!

Congrats on success. Be careful about too much growth and going into debt. Seems like if things slowed down having buildings like that wouldn't be too expensive to have empty except for the cost of bills from building them in the first place. Hope to keep watching your journey! I'm just getting started in astrophotography, hope down the line I can have a scope out there with u guys!

Thanks! Debt is not a concern here, we have a great team on all fronts including financial. Hope to see your scope here one day!

I have similar security system for my telescope when i leave it outside. But i am afraid, that our German shepherd would just rather hide, to be safe, and to be able to tell in the morning what happened to my rig :D

What skills/qualifications do you look for in the on-site tech support team? I’m in no position to come out to Texas right now but who knows, could be an awesome job if you’re still looking for people in the future!

This looks fantastic Bray, I wish everyone the best success. I'd love to be part of this, but simply shipping my setup over to the USA makes no sense compared to Spain, even though I'd rather be part of this amazing new venture. Be wary of expanding *too* quickly though, it's the downfall of a lot of companies.
@astrofalls4 ай бұрын
You gotta do what makes the most sense geographically! We are a bit darker than spain over here though which is nice.

What's your answer for dust control on the optics? Looks like the scope exteriors have a significant build up. Thanks.
@astrofalls4 ай бұрын
Scopes are cleaned when customers make tickets for it, or about once every 6 months. Dust has little impact on images, also the contents of the building are technically outside for half of the day, so dust is inevitable.
@bbroastro4 ай бұрын
To be fair, if you're sending your scope remote it's very likely you'll have an auto flat panel (or dust cover) sorted for it. The only issue would be if people are running actively cooled mini PCs as dust ingress is baaaaad for computers long term.
