We've been living in East African Safari Tents since August 2015 out in the country of North Texas. And even have a heated toilet seat too. It's awesome. We've been learning some do's and don'ts as we go along.

What a spectacular set up...and the decorating...whoah! So impressive. As someone that lives in a 17' yurt and has a wall tent for bathroom, laundry, and kitchen... I feel qualified to say that having an unconventional place that looks gorgeous and is functional is a feat. Bravo!

Yes, make sure it has vents for the fireplace. You can even take the pink foam insulation, cover and make panels to cover the walls on the outside too. Just insert natural heavy duty magnets in various areas to attach from the inside. In the summer put up a 90% shade cloth over to reduce the heat. Some how attach flag poles at the 4 corners of the roof, sticking up and out, hook the shade cloth to that. It's getting so bad in areas, I don't see why cities are doing this across building to make shade. Many gardens need it now and play areas for kids can have a 30-40% shade over their area. It comes 30% to 90%, this is how it's used now. **Shade cloth, also known as shade fabric, comes in different densities, or percentages, that indicate how much sunlight the cloth blocks: 30-50% Often used in gardens and greenhouses to protect seedlings, vegetables, fruits, and shade-loving plants. 30% shade cloth can also be used for pond netting and to keep leaves out of swimming pools. 40% Can help prevent vegetables from burning and is good for bedding plants and lilies. 50% White 50% shade cloth can be used for backyard shade cooling, while black 50% can be used as a paintball barrier or to protect ficus from heat. 75% and higher Used to protect people, plants, or animals from intense sun, such as on patios. ** I'd love to see it run across smaller neighborhood streets, not just say downtown businesses. too

I've thought of this if we purchase land, sell the older house and just focus on land and greenhouses, but would wrap the tent homes in glass greenhouses, bear country, and warmer for our area, and also put the heating wires under the flooring. But to me this innovative.

OK, maybe I missed it, but how do you secure your home from thieves? Seriously, my husband has been researching wall tents as an alternative temporary housing while we develop on our new property. My concern has been keeping people from just cutting through the tent and taking whatever they want. I do love and mean really love the airy open ideal of the wall tent for I am an outdoors type of gal, but we work hard for what little we do have and guns and dogs don't stop everyone. Please share the secret because I love this ideal. A wall tent nestled amongst our pine and cedar forest would be so comfy and cute(at least in my head it would be). Beautiful home, by the way.

We relocate the copperheads if they are a nuisance, but most of the time they want to leave quicker than we want them to leave. Perhaps my husband is just good at handling snakes, as he grew up messing around with snakes even poisonous ones and they never try to bite him. when he puts them in a bucket and carries them off if the dogs won't leave them alone. And the dogs make them want to leave too of course. It always seems to me that people are too quick to kill things that could be a danger. Yes they are poisonous, but I kind of feel that trying not to kill things if we possibly can (I know sometimes it is unavoidable), is better than a blanket kill everything on sight that moves that could possibly hurt, even when the creature in question really does not want to hurt and wants to go itself. It seems an action that is too borne out of fear to be right. In the end of course its everybody's choice, but I think there is a morality present here too. And an accountability to God to NOT kill if we can possibly avoid it. I am just putting there here really for other people, who maybe think that everybody kills poisonous snakes on sight. Both my husband and I worked hard once to free a copperhead snake from some deer wire I have put up for my peas and beans, and I will never forget how terrified the poor creature was and how it dipped its head into the bucket we had up between our hands and the clippers and tried to hide. But it seemed to know we were trying to help it and never once tried to attack us. It felt like we were Adam and Eve and somehow we were part of healing the world. I am not suggesting everybody should do that, we they are not confident but we should "Choose LIfe" as much as we possibly can - both for ourselves and for every other creature when we can. They are often so beautiful and unique in their own way. God truly has made all things good. We cannot help living in a sinful old world. But it is good to reflect his love for his creation. And to show mercy. And I think mercy will be returned to you. That is how I feel anyhow. You have some really lovely tents by the way!
