Hey, Britain, a manual 230i! Ever heard of one of those? Great that BMW is still making manuals for markets that like them.

Unfortunately, that's the last of the 230i with the manual. The next generation 2 series won't have the manual here either.

Yeah, I have the F22 230i with the automatic transmission, and I must say, I miss having a manual. Though I would say, in its defence, the 8-speed auto gearbox is a delight for the most part, the gear changes are seamless and generally very intuitive depending on mode selected. My only 'even better if' statement on the auto gearbox would be about the rev hang when I ease off the throttle at high rpm, it takes careful nursing of the throttle to bring it back down without using the paddle shifters, so I usually just use the paddles, which makes the gearbox panic and assume I want to go to sequential manual mode until I tell it otherwise. But it's faster with the auto for sure. The 230i is a great car though for sure. I've just ordered the new M240i, so let's see what's different with that when I take delivery in July.
