Tour the Amazon with Street View

Google Maps with Street View now allows you to visit parts of the Amazon Basin including the Rio Negro tributary and the surrounding communities.

They do this because of awareness of the beauty of the Amazon rainforest, so that people wordwide want to protect it. The indigenous people working with the project were very excited to show the beauty of the Amazon to the rest of the world...

Part of it is also in Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela and the Guyana's. For example, largest exporter of Amazon nuts(Brazil nuts) is actually not Brazil but Bolivia

True, in fact aid makes stuff worse because it gives rise to capital flight, bureaucracy and corruption. Plus, there will always be misallocation of resources with aid and the money may not always go into infrastructure. What google could possibly do is help these poor countries is create employment which will help countries leave the poverty cycle and develop, just like it helped countries like India and Malaysia.

live earth view would be both amazing and incredibly useful in a myriad of ways currently only the military have this technology, but this was paid for by all of us the people who have worked and paid our dues into our societies and economies so all of us sholud have access to live view technology through platforms like google earth or google maps through live view satellite technology - it's probably beyond the capability of google or bandwidth of infrastructure yet available tho'.....?
