Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. Like so many others, my lifestyle changed due to the pandemic.
Before the pandemic, my families lives had become so hectic & busy that there never seemed to be a good time to travel anymore. Somewhere along the line we realized that our last vacation was in 2011. We decided that it was time we made some travel plans.
Then the pandemic hit! I no longer wanted to travel by plane or stay in a hotel. We decided that a bettter and safer alternative would be to travel in our own vehicle, one that we could also sleep in, cook our own meals in, vacation in. The rest is history!

American manufacturer’s need to visit European (class B) RV factories and copy a lot of their ideas. Most EU RV’s blow away ours, and to boot their cheaper by about 30%

When they can make a truly self-powered and self contained vehicle it will be awesome! This RV is a great step forward with its Freedom Package lithium batteries and solar. Plus it is totally luxurious and well built. The only negative I can see is the really small refrigerator and regular microwave instead of a convection one. Lack of a medicine cabinet and mirror in the bathroom is also a concern.

After owning a Sprinter van I don’t believe I would ever invest that much money in a Sprinter conversion. While I didn’t have any real problems with my Sprinter, being from Wisconsin there were only three places to get service in the whole state. With a Ford or Dodge van pretty much every city has a service opportunity. While everyone touts Diesel engines as being superior to gas, there is little financial benefit to diesel given the cost difference between gas and diesel. Maybe 300,000 miles down the road that diesel engine will still be working like a champ, that Mercedes Sprinter will have probably frustrated you to no end. After 30,000 miles mine went into limp mode because of a defective sensor and I had to get it a hundred miles to a Mercedes’ dealer. Traded it in for a Ford van and never looked back!

My Sanctuary is on a Mercedes Sprinter and I do like the torque and highway driving much more than the Ram but the price of diesel is a concern. I also like the 4X4 and the clearance. I have over 10k miles now and I have had a couple minor issues but luckily I have a dealership close. Thanks for Watching!

The interior is among the most modern and beautiful I’ve ever seen in an RV. But the small kitchen,despite the elongated chassis, leaves much to be desired. With all the seats, the layout makes this RV seem more like a livery for taxi service than for RV camping. But the seats sure do look comfortable, though.

This RV will most likely appeal to those that want to use it for the occasional camping trips but will mostly use it for day trips or to travel long distances in absolute comfort with all the amenities of home while bringing along a few others. Mercedes Sprinter: my idea of a, “dream Mercedes”! Thanks, Ruby, for pointing out all the features and lack of features. I see the base price for the chassis is $55K. Meh. Nice, comfy captain’s chairs, but 2 addition chairs are totally unnecessary and a real space waster in a Sprinter that only sleeps 2. Driving features look great (as always on Mercedes). No side windows that open: HUGE minus. No convection oven, horrible fridge, and very small garage. Oh, and no mention of final MSRP with all of the options. This Sprinter is exhibit A on why small shops that build custom rigs are thriving: they would do a MUCH better job for far, far less.

Hello Linda, I agree that smaller shops can build some nice custom RVs, however the lead time is significant and the price is not always better. American Coach does build a quality RV but I also agree that there are a few things that I would change. One of the reasons I bought the Thor Sanctuary is because I knew I would be customizing to my liking and the price was decent. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel!

I heard some companies are waiting for Tesla Cybertrucks to be mass-produced so that they can convert them to RVs. But the wait list is quite long (over 1.5 million in May 2022), so it won't happen any time soon.

Yes, the bathroom sink is so small it's pretty useless anyway, so removing it would open-up the showing space instead of interfering with it as the sink does now. I know some people DO want a sink in the bathroom, but maybe it should be an optional item vs. standard. Personally, I could do without it...especially this "cereal bowl" sized sink as this model has. ;-) Now, if American Coach would move to the the Ford Transit (gas engine) platform for their Class Bs instead of the Mercedes Sprinter (diesel), that'd be nice, too. Lose the back passenger seat - make the drivers seat lay flat and line up with the seat behind it to make a bed if you need one / lose the shower ( with 28 gallons of water you wont be showering in there) make it just a toilet - freeing up space for a bigger fridge hand wash in the kitchen sink which as you can see it right there. this is a cross country point A to B van not a live in for van for any great length of time. only using the toilet if you have to. I'd use this van to travel across the country stopping for a night or 2 along the way. The big bed is useless, keep it set up as a twin, love that the back can go up for TV watching or reading. great storage space for luggage.

Can't question the quality of American Coach however, must be said that the bathroom and layout in general lacks innovation There are many bathrooms in smaller vans that offer dry toilets, particularly in European builds. A better bathroom solution would probably also eliminate the need for a shower curtain, at this price range and in 2022 a shower curtain is not a solution nor should it be an option!!! There are so many builds especially independent builds which have much better layouts and are very innovative. Van conversions biggest issue is space so, there should be no door handles sticking out as per the bathroom door. The fridge is far too small. Does the TV always stick out like that? If so, seems poorly designed/considered! I know you said the bed was easy to make but at this price range I'd expect not to be playing tetris to make my bed. Maybe for a secondary bed but, this doesn't offer 4 berths yet seats 4? On overnight trips with 4 people where are the 2 passengers supposed to sleep? As always love your vids, RAM (R)uby (A)dventure (M)om). Let me know if the acronym sticks or conversely if you don't like it I apologise.
