The first and third are so nice, very impressive decor, views and gardens. Not really surprised by the pricing, given how nice they are
@thebangkokguideАй бұрын
They hit all the marker for high prices - location, size, modern, well built and amenities. Prices definitely get up there in this market segment.

Thanks for the video! Just a heads up at around 13:40 in video when you are telling condo is 120,000 THB, the prices for other currencies is being covered up by links. For me I would go for either The Esse Asoke or Celes Asoke because of the better and more modern amenities they offer. Price wise it is a bit pricier than desired, but when I get all my stuff together and make my move it won't be a problem :)
@thebangkokguideАй бұрын
I’ll check that out. Thanks for the check. Those are two of the most modern and luxurious condos in the Asoke area. Great spots! Cheers

Can you start telling some of the amenities near the area? Stations and shopping for example. I know you do in some, I’m trying to figure out the best area. I love the bed test you do. Condo 2 would be a win if the gym was updated and all furnishings. 3 was great as well, just need short leases.

I try to add some comments on the amenities but it can make videos repetitive when I cover the same areas. Tough to get the balance right!
@skmagsonАй бұрын
Thank you for making these videos, they're quite helpful. I've seen Celes previewed before in someone's video and found it nice. Of the three, I like the first one the best, but all three of them are above my price range, being currently slightly less for what I would find in my home country. It's nuts how much space you get in the older buildings, compared to newer builds. Something I would would be helpful in these videos is to know the building's occupancy % rate, as well as thinness of the walls. In a previous video of yours you had mentioned in an older building how thick the walls were, and specifically mentioned not hearing neighbors, of which there was only one for that unit, and 6 on the floor in total. I found that really helpful to know, and matched my expectation for an older building. Yet, I tend not to see these kinds of mentions in anyone's videos on newer condos, and given how quickly they go up, that makes me very suspicious. Have a blessed day! ❤🔥🕉🕊
@thebangkokguideАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I will add the wall checks. To be honest in this price range the build quality is normally quite good. The walls on all three buildings in this video were good. But I'll make sure to add them for future videos as it's an important check for any building. Occupancy rates are higher in older buildings, and normally lower in new ones. I'll check for data as it's a good question. Cheers

#1 No #2 Ohh most definitely! # 3 No. They always get people with the amenities and fancy lobbies. If that much money and space is used for those. Then there are cutbacks elsewhere.The amenities are seldom, if ever used. Also I love the way people use the term modern for simpler and cheaper. Even the high end. As very noticeable in #3 except for the bathrooms. #2 had space. For that money there should be some space.( talking about Bangkok. Not other parts of the world). Also it actually had design features and style. These things cost more to build. With the modern, it comes ready to install.
@thebangkokguideАй бұрын
Love the space in the older condos as well. I know other people who like the amenities in newer condos though and take the tradeoff of higher prices per sqm… to each their own. Thanks for your input!

Last one was definitely the best. But for 120k, hmmm, I am just not sure its worth it. Also 110 sqm shouldn't really be for three bedrooms I think, it suits a decent sized two bedroom place better. Keep up the good work, really enjoying your videos but I think this is the first time I actually commented!

Great content! How do Canadians pay rent in Thailand digitally? Line Pay? Wise App? Some condos require 2-3 months deposit. Thoughts on cash alternatives?

You can do international money transfer. Wise is a good option. You can also withdraw cash and deposit directly to landlord's account. I'll cover this in an upcoming video that goes over all the ins and outs of renting here! Cheers

Good review, but would pass on all three, in favor of a detached house. Once you get into this price range, there are more options, outside of condos.

Houses are often significantly cheaper than condos in Bangkok… it’s an anomaly of the market here compared to the west. Can find great value if your looking for a house!

@@thebangkokguide This seems to be the case in many non-Western countries, where foreigners are not allowed to own land. WIthout foreign ownership, market prices will generally be limited to what locals can afford to pay.

It was/is affordable for the rich family only but not affordable for the poor/budget type of family. If I am a small rich family I will choose the first one with two bedroom. If I am a rich bigger family I will prefer to choose the second one with the three bedroom with balconies and more spacious and $20,000 lesser.

You can live like a king for $500 US a month in Bangkok Thailand? Yet every condo you show costs a minimum of $1000 US a month and most of which you wouldn't wanna live in. What gives? Are you telling porky pies, Cal?? 😆
@thebangkokguideАй бұрын
Whose living like a king for $500 a month in Bangkok? Where are you getting that from? The property market in Bangkok has a very wide variation due to underlying average costs and incomes. I can discuss that in another video but I've shown condos that range from $275 a month up to $3000 in the luxury segment here.
