Until the laws change in Thailand these properties won’t sell and it’s a shame, foreigners won’t spend their hard earned cash on properties they can’t own outright. I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who are just waiting for the Thai government to change the laws and these properties will be snapped up, come on Thailand get it together and you might get some real investors in the country.

@@anti-leveled142it’s not equivalent Can’t leave it to your kids I’ve lived in my parents home for close to 30 years and they are still living in it 35 years after buying it. In Thailand, they would have had to buy it again If you want to sell it after 20+ years, buyers will know you’ll lose it eventually if you don’t sell it and that doesn’t work to your advantage A 30 year lease is a 30 year lease. Not even close to ownership

Its actually similar to other countries like Bali, You can't own the land but you can have on a property on a leasehold arrangement. This is actually a better concept because gentrification does more harm than good to the locals.

@@relighg I have to agree on that and I’m now looking into the leasing of land, as you say it can push land prices up and it will effect the locals and I think that’s why the Thai government will never change their policy on land.
