You forgot to mention that their is a condo/HOA fees. Those fees are high. The condo/HOA fees is like a second rent. Also, over 300k is a rip-off.

You'd have to do research on room rentals. On something like this you would probably be sharing the whole space with friends and family. I'd think it would be $500-$700 each but I haven't looked into this. Or split the total cost of owning 3 ways

@TrevorTardif says the white guy charging exorbitant commissions. I recently spent $320k for a bungalo in Spruce Grove with a huge yard. You're selling the dream of home ownership, but what do they own here? No land, no privacy, just cheap laminate flooring and condo fees.

I can understand that perspective. If you want a yard, especially a big one like what you'll get with older detached homes, the condo life isn't for you. There's also a price premium for being in Edmonton vs. Spruce Grove. Believe it or not, some people don't want to have a yard to take care of, and there's many buyers out there that aren't at all interested in what they consider "old" properties. Not uncommon for buyers to be only interested in properties that were built in the past 15 years (or often less). Different property types/ages appeal to different people. If that weren't the case, none of these condos would ever sell at all.
