I love the first generation Monte Carlo’s design (shown last here) more and more over time. I was still at my muscle car stage when they were first introduced so I paid little attention to that segment then. Enjoy your videos, HCG. 👍👍👍

Thanks. Those first gen Montes didn't get much respect for a long time. Might explain why they are rarely seen today.

Excellent job. I liked all the photos. I liked the fact you went global and shared the trend and how the segment changed. I smiled when I saw all the GM cars and I saw the Lincoln and Ford too. I smiled when you showed Holden as well. Excellent. I had no idea Monaro was that small. It is interesting to note the Chrysler 300 just left again and how many models were in this segment. They started the 4 door coupe thing as well. It was the next step in this segment. In the 1970's there were many players. That was cool how you ended on Monte Carlo. Thank you.

Thanks. A period when this segment had some of the most creative styled cars.

New to your channel and really enjoyed the video. I was a kid but still a car nut and remember so many of these. I've always been partial to the Mark 3 and Tbird. Great job!

I am always excited to get notified that you've posted a new video. I don't think I blink the first time I watch, lest I miss something. I love the grand tourers and have owned several. All that automotive glamour promised a more interesting life than a grocery getter, for sure. Whatever happened, or didn't, at least you weren't bored behind the wheel! Really enjoyed this one, buddy. Thanks. And keep 'em coming!

The Torino at the end was made in cooperation with AMC. The body is a mix of Rambler Classic body shell with a Rambler American front clip giving a unique wheelbase. The 230 OHC6 was a modified version of the Kaiser-Jeep 'Tornado' truck engine to make it better in a car application.

I beg to differ but looking at the upper part of the rear fender profile and the roof only says 1964-65 Rambler American 2-door hardtop to me. Not even close to a 1964 Classic and 1965-66 Classic aren't even on the playing field. Reminded me of a 1964-65 American 440H since I first saw the picture of one many years ago, probably, oh say, maybe early '70s. (Still remember the '61 Ramblers when they came out, so early '70s is nothing to me because that was when I was in jr high school and really appreciating the cars from around the world including the South American countries.

Great video. The 361 was in the '66 Charger only.

It’s a shame, today’s car manufacturers don’t make beautiful cars like the ones of the 1960, 70, 80, 90’s where the interior and exterior were the selling point of the car. Which included an engine that complimented the overall design with the horsepower to match, especially the sports cars. Today’s cars are trash, particularly the electric vehicles. Today’s manufacturers are all obsessed with technology and all the worthless unnecessary technical features that really doesn’t improve the car, but cost the consumer tons of money for maintenance repairs. Some of today’s exterior designs lines are appealing, but the interior is what’s neglected. Every interior has that bland black interior, black dashboard, black headliner, black steering wheel, black carpet and black seats with color inserts. How lazy and cheap can you manufacturer be when it comes to the interior of cars, especially the luxury versions of cars. I don’t mind some of technology and some it should be standard, like blind spot side mirrors, cruise control, or the seat notifications that alerts the driver, you’re close to wrecking or hitting another vehicle. But self driving and parking cars, is totally unnecessary, and a waste of time and money. Electric vehicles, just aren’t trustworthy or dependable, and not designed for the average American consumer. There’s not enough charging stations and the alleged time to charge the battery is ridiculous. Then it’s the rumor cost to replace those batteries and the suspected range of electric vehicles, doesn’t help either. Let’s not ignore the possibilities of electric vehicles catching on fire and how it’s difficult charging and performing in cold winter weather. I would never buy an electric vehicle and definitely wouldn’t accept one for free or as a gift. I like to see all car manufacturers reduce their obsession with technology and be more practical with implementing technology into cars and trucks. But more importantly, bring back the beautiful color interior to both cars and trucks, so consumers can truly enjoy the beauty and comfort of the vehicle they purchase. And not have to settle for cheap looking interior while paying ridiculous high prices for technology that most people probably don’t know how to use or want.

@@danielulz1640 I grew up when color TV became a household item in American homes. That made Saturday morning cartoons spectacular and exciting as the color brought a whole new meaning to watching television. I was very fond of the cartoon “The Jetson’s” and the 1960’s original version of “Star Trek.” I’m in my late 60’s and honestly thought that we would have flying cars and homes in the clouds like the Jetson’s, and thought our space program would be very similar to Star Trek. If those things had came to fruition, I believe our lives would’ve been so much better, easier and comfortable. Imagine your flying car, folding up into a briefcase. That’s the kinda of future I wanted to live in, with an home in the clouds.

Seems like it has all become about who has the largest touch screen. A feature I'd just as soon do without.

I 100% agree. All the new cars are just boring, they dont excite me at all. Technology is fine for some, but the bottom line with me is looks, outside and inside.
