Wow I love ❤️ that house! And that awesome gun collection/ Gun/safe room! Amazing House Brad! I had no idea until today. Been watching your show for over a year, you’ve built over 600 custom homes. And been building homes for 25 to 30 years. Wow, amazing work dude. My cousin Paul passed away at 58, 5 years ago he was a builder for over 15 years building High -End custom homes in Santa Monica, One of his subs jumped off a 3 foot wall and claimed my cousin told him to jump off the wall, (Fabricated mis )truth he badly sprained his ankle and sued my cousin. PS: it’s sad that the owner has MS 😢 a good friend of mine has MS he’s a 53. He’s had it for 20 years, he’s not wheelchair-bound yet, but he’s afraid that’s gonna happen in the next 5 years.

Andrew was right - you NEEDED to have this channel! What an amazing home - such exquisite attention to detail. I am a handicapped person too and a single parent (and therefore income). I live in our same pre-injury (spine/spinal cord) 4 level split home. My daughter is 21yo now and doesn't live at home so it's just me and our 11yo pup. I would love... dare I say need... to move to a bungalow/ranch style home. Being disabled, however, doesn't pay very well, lol. The biggest problem with the ranch style homes here is most of them are a) new and beyond my budget, or b) are older and need work plus they have a detached garage with a loooong driveway. That may sound like not a big deal, but having the garage in the back means it takes up half of your back yard and the snow removal is a pain because there's nowhere to put the snow, except over the fence into the small fenced back yard, or lug it all to the front yard. Since I have to pay someone to do it for me, it'd be beyond my budget. Being in a 4-level split is a struggle/nightmare for me. There are many times I've been unable to get up and down the stairs for days to get things from the laundry, deep freeze (basement - a true basement), den, spare room, etc. I've had countless falls. Hell, I can't even afford one of those buttons that calls 911 for ya, lol! I've just come to get in the habit of taking my phone with me everywhere I go in the house, haha. For the bad wipe-outs I'm stuck lying there trying to call family, neighbours, friends, etc. to come help me back up! Anyways, you are one talented guy, Brad. Congratulations on your success. You are an exceptionally skilled contractor and project manager. The fact that you remember all of these details years later shows how much effort and attention you put into your jobs. Well done - and pls thank the home owners for letting us have a walk-through their lovely home. Heather🇨🇦

It’s Rip Sawn , then you hv quarter sawn? Quarter Sawn is the best ! Flat, Rip, ; & quarter sawn ! With flat it’s subset-able to cupping, & bowing ? Same with Rip; however Quarter Sawn reduces that effect substantially! Hi Brad , Jim Duncan here I am the trim carpenter from Nor Cal taking care of my parents if you remember ? White oak as opposed to red ( two commonly used oak in const) is tighter grain less likely to get mold issues or rot! Therefore more money! My business is “ Kings Table Custom Finish Carpentry” ! I can appreciate where you are coming from. I had a spine/spinal cord injury about 11 years ago. I have some mobility, but it's inconsistent and falling is a frequent occurrence. On top of this, I live in a 4-level split (our pre-injury) home. It's a constant struggle when you have to pre-plan every trip up and down the stairs (backpack is my friend) and don't go more than 3 steps without carrying my phone for when (not if) I fall. Suffice it to say that furniture is very strategically placed in my home. It's far enough apart to give me lots of room but close enough I can usually crawl to something to help me get back up, lol. It's just me these days. I've been a single mom since my daughter was one. She's now 21yo now. Disability doesn't pay very well, though I am grateful for our "free" healthcare. So, chances of me being able to buy a home that is suited for me, let alone renovate or build one is not going to happen. Ahhhh, the joys of disability.😂 Heather🇨🇦

@@heatherd.9390 Heather, i’m so sorry to hear about your struggles! I wish the government had better programs in place to help remodel homes for better accessibility!
@heatherd.93902 жыл бұрын
@@BradtheBuilder Hi Brad. I feel kind of silly here - I hope I didn't sound like a whiner. I'm very lucky to own a home and am grateful for the mobility I do have. Life certainly would be *MUCH* easier on a one-level home but I don't want to come off like I'm complaining. After all, everyone has something they struggle with, mine is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. I did have an organization come out and install a bar next to my bath/shower and measured for a chair to use in the shower. That really was all they could do since what I really need is to bulldoze this house and rebuild🤣, but again, I appreciated it. Watching this episode did give me some great ideas should I ever manage to buy a bungalow/ranch style home. The seamless transitions would be great. Thanks for the reply, Brad. Keep doing what you are doing because you are great at it. Meaning your full-time job, as well as videos for KZbin.
