Tina O’Dwyer is an active researcher and advocate of sustainable and responsible tourism. She is involved in emerging global conversations about 'regenerative' models of tourism. Tina believes the world has been calling for tourism to transform itself. Now is the time when we are ready and able to respond. Now is the time to question whether what has served us well in the past can continue to serve us well in the future.
Tina was an Animator and strategic leader of the award-winning Burren Ecotourism Network between 2011 and 2017. She worked for 5 years on an EU LIFE 'Tourism for Conservation' Programme in the Burren & Cliffs of Moher Geopark, a programme which won the National Geographic World Legacy Award in 2016. During this time, she pioneered the development of the Geopark Code of Practice for Sustainable Tourism working with over 100 enterprises in the Geopark region. The Code continues to be observed by members of the Burren Ecotourism Network and again received global recognition through the Lonely Planet as Best in Travel 2021.
