They could do this as an DLC for ETS2, although especially the urban parts of the map wouldn't fit such a game since you're mostly driving around industrial areas.

Yeah, they have a blog post about it that they view it as trivial. They view VR as trivial (pet project) as well that it's hurting them that they should find time to prioritize both sometimes "soon". If you're going to tell me otherwise you're missing the point, but yeah, SCS has a Bus Sim in the works just won't add it yet because it's too trivial to them.

@@InsaneCallum Sure. That's fine, not arguing or knocking them down in that POV. They're busy. If they however come out and say they don't know what to do then Bus Sim DLC & VR is the next important route/step to go. When able, do it. If you can't, you can't. That's fine, and I get how much stress they're already under working on all the DLCS, mini DLCs, and maps. I guess I worded something wrong in my previous comment in my haste to post something.

@@InsaneCallum Yeah, it's partially supported though as a "pet project" by a single developer, right? Once you lose tracking from the center you can't re-calibrate it to the center. If you can, I don't know how. It doesn't support mods that it has to be a clean installation. There's many things needing to be done with that VR support that it's just clunky when I tried it. It needs that 'plug-in & play' feel to it while being able to recenter your POV when you lose your center (most important in seated play) I guess for any bus fix/cravings I'd simply play Bus Simulator 18 until SCS decides they're finally ready with whatever they're doing.

I think they build upon Fern Bus's mistakes but I do fear that they may not be in terms of when the game release as such it may be another mixed review game from TML Studios.

@MaidenAirTM I did refund it; there is no depth in what you see, all is a facade. The only thing that matter is the money management part, since it is used to buy parts, new bus and pay employees. The island is big but probably you will get not more than 20-30 hours of gameplay; then it is up to you to see if you want to run the routes over and over. The graphics is utilitarian at best; with some nice vistas but most of the time you will be cursing the AI for gridlocking; or the fact that there is virtually nobody in your company and few cars and people around the map. And even like that, you get very poor performances and plenty of bugs. If that is OK for 29 bucks and you like Fernbus; then you may get value out of it.

Harry, the April Fools joke is Steam and their prices. There is a reason many people start using sites like G2A and Kinguin. I don't ever buy new games on Steam only when they are on sale. It's not because I can't afford it, but why waste 20$+ buying in on Steam?

Hi guys. It might upset some of you but others will find it useful. There is a huge difference between a bus and a coach. Basically, for tours we use coaches. Buses you can find in cities carrying people from bus stop to bus stop. Main distinction is that coach has separate luggage compartment below passenger floor or at the back of the vehicle. Buses do not have separate luggage compartments. So, when you want to upset coach driver for some reason just call him/her a bus driver (winks). Thank you for your work Mr Squirrel.

i live in a tourist-oriented region and i can at least confirm this game is pretty realistic. most tourist coach drivers are working long hours, face extreme competition for every tourist, are often forced to navigate through narrow historical city centers or park on improvised unpaved clearings, and drive like they just came from a career in rallying.

Sand isn’t flown into Fuerteventura, probably most naturally sand abundant of the canaries, a lot blows over from Sahara making the dunes in the north

You can say a lot about this game... ONE thing they do right are the in depth economics of running a business ... Things like having to buy spare parts or an apartment..I think the insurance is brilliant. I would love to see that sort of stuff in both ATS and ETS2

If I had to guess I would say the reason that there is no scanning people on in this one is that the contracts are intended to be private charter hire jobs, though they could have made it look more like that was a case by having an avatar model with a tablet that gets on the bus and gets off to check people trying to board at each stop. That's usually how private charters work anyway since the bus company was just given a lump sum to drive a bus from A to B how the charter fills the seats up and makes sure that they get paid if they are selling the seats is their problem.

I really like the surroundings honestly. Maybe I'll try this if bugs and glitches are ironed out. I don't know if buses usually have quite complex buttons, but buses in my country seemed to be more simpler compared to what I saw in fernbus.

Lacks BusSim 18 passenger interaction, hopefully they'll at least get the passengers to say hello/good morning etc.. Also they need some luggage on the airport runs (arriving and departing the holiday island). Texture load distance is poor, need to fix all the bugs. 2 versions of the same coach is not enough, should be at least 5 or 6 in the base game. Besides that i'm impressed.

This game has so much potential. This was the same with Fernbus. It's too buggy and some features don't look like they have been implemented properly. I would rather this game had less features that were implemented correctly. It just feels like they've said they're going to do a million things and only implement like 20% of each thing. If there were no or few bugs with this game then I would get it in a heart beat. However, after buying Fernbus, I refunded after an hour. I don't think it will improve much from what you see here, so I'm going to pass on this. It costs £27 as well. I would of thought something like £10-15. Euro Truck is far superior to this at just a fraction of the price.

think they have some really good ideas as part of the concept. imagine if they had the whole parts stock management involved with ETS2 also insurance's and staff going on the sick. these are major things that can have a real negative effect on a haulage business. or in this case coach business.

Pre release bugs that will be fixed. Traffic ai that stops, vanishes is still a thing in Fernbus. I wished I’d never spent a penny on dlc for that game so I still have zero faith in this. Given that it just looks like Fernbus in a different environment with some management things chucked in.

Looks like a 15€ DLC for fernbus sim. But they decided to release a DLC as a full game and probably price it at 30€ or even more. Same low quality graphics, low quality textures, poor performance, empty cities. And i'm sure this will be abandoned after couple months just like fernbus sim was abandoned. Pathetic developers. Better support SCS and ETS2/ATS.

Those are my thoughts too about TML abandoning this shortly after release just like they did with Fernbus and they'll be concentrating on their next simulator called The Bus to be released in 2019. Never happen. Too interested in making bucks out of DLC. There’s nothing to do in ets2 other than drive. It’s not like -for eg- Snowrunner, which would suit getting out a cab as you can load and unload cargo/vehicles on/off your million trucks you own!

@@stumpusMaximus Need to rewatch the video, it's been so long, lol. You are correct though. SCS has done nothing in over 4 years. I drove semis for 17 years and I was a road instructor for a truck driving school for 1.5 years. ETS2 and ATS in VR does feel like I am sitting in the truck again. The turns and backing are very realistic. If you were going to learn to drive a semi, I would suggest a simulator with VR. I could make a realistic truck driving game if I knew how, lol.

fast forward april 2021. I bought the game on steam. The problems you had in 2018 still not fixed, performance is garbage, frame pacing issues, stuttering, pop up, stupid ai. I play it since there aren't many reall good bus simulators.
