They are filming in the West Bank where it's occupied by Israel and you need a permission to move between places (checkpoints, etc.). The one you are referring to is Gaza, which is far away from here. Look at the Palestine map to get some reference. Don't take my word, do your own research. I hope it helps.

I remember meeting German tourists in Haifa who were before in the disputed territories a.k.a "palestine", one of them said he's "seriously considering moving to live in palestine". I told him you live in a rose-tinted dream world, that he has a lot to learn about the region. He looked upset, and said why? I gave him examples of societal oppression of free speech at threat of death, of LGBT rights oppressed with threat of death etc. But he still insisted he knows better, the naivety is strong among many of these tourists.

I lived in Jerusalem Old city in the small dirty hostels for months and months back in the 80's when I backpacked in Israel. I had so many Palestinian male friends and sometimes a bf even. My story goes even deeper,but anyway, the people were nice,kind,fun, helpful, but oh so lazy, I became really good fiends with a Christian Palestinian man who had a coffeeshop and he worked hard to keep it clean and going. He said to me that the young Palestinian guys are so lazy, they just run after tourist girls to hopefully get out of there without having to work for it! Or they just hang in the streets. He was so mad at them making bad reputation for the Palestinians.

I am palestinian, and yes, there was an ethnic cleansing in 1948 as well as 1967 when the israelis took all of Palestine and killed and kicked out tens of thousands. Some of that land has since been reclaimed through international agreement. As for being traumatized, that is another story. but cities are relatively unaffected by the israelis who are "legaly" not allowed to enter ( something they really do not follow). but palestinians have cities, villages, and towns like any other country and we lead a pretty normal life. ​@@ofrikalif4938 What Isreal wants and what it does are two different things ever since the creation of the Israeli state they played on one card and one card only "Being persecuted by the Nazis or Europeans in general" to get as much sympathy from the international community as possible. Hastily removing all Palestinians from a certain place (for instance the west bank) by any means would put them in a very difficult position with the rest of the world and that's exactly why they're playing the extremely slow settlements game. Other than Isreal, Palestine isn't really a rich country their resources are quite limited and they import almost everything which is another reason that threatens its existence. actually seeing tourists in Palestine is a really good thing cause that's a perfect way to bring more money to the country.

@@ofrikalif4938 I wouldn't use the word "Loved" actually if you Google (the most hated countries in the world) there's a high chance that you'll find Isreal in almost every list. Replacing the word "loved" with "tolerated" would make your statement much more accurate.
