Tourmalines are sometimes underappreciated, probably because they are often used as a budget replacement for more expensive stones. But their own colour range is unmatched. Like those hot pink ones that you can sometimes get with both orange and purple glow? Absolutely stunning! Waiting for your Paraiba meterial.

I have some beautiful tourmaline in most colours and some big the majority VVS/eye clean. It is as another mentioned a very underrated stone. The tones of blue tourmaline (indicolite) can range from pale to almost cornflower.

I wish you can have another episodes about Lab grown rubies and sapphires. I do not want to shell a hell load of money for rubies and sapphire like thousands and thousands, I find it more practical for Lab grown and enjoying its inclusion free gemstone rather than habing natural earth mined with lots of inclusions and struggling to find a high quality that you have to spend sooo much only a a carat or two

Why didn’t you say indicolite for the blue but used “sapphire” blue?
@GeoRockNerd7 ай бұрын
That’s what I was wondering too, indicolite is my favorite! And they didn’t mention dravite or petrol - yellow/gold/brown, verdelite - green, achroite - colorless etc. In geology we differentiate more than in gemology, I guess.
@donmacquarrie91616 ай бұрын
because names for gemstones are REALLY important for marketing and retailing them.....some people won't buy Zircon because they immediately think of "fake" diamonds or cubic zirconias....ppl won't buy Zoisite because it sounds similar to "suicide"-so it's renamed "tanzenite".....The problem with the name Indicolite is that most ppl don't know what that is - whereasif you say "sapphire" blue tourmaline - their ears perk up instantly
@Jackaroo.6 ай бұрын
@@donmacquarrie9161 that’s a good explanation. Indicolite is growing in notoriety though so it will probably be more recognizable to people as time goes by.

What is the price of natural white top quality tourmlin 10 carat
@donmacquarrie91616 ай бұрын
It all depends on cut color clarity. pure clear tourmaline is extremely rare -however the retail market price suffers because white gem stones are always compared and graded second rate to diamonds.
@ignacioaguilar95578 ай бұрын
And the prices for pink/green tourmaline?
@Jackaroo.8 ай бұрын
200 to 400 a carat. Higher if it is a larger stone, 4 carats or more.
