Tournai Belgium | A City You Need to Visit

What a nice video! Tournai is my city and I'm proud to live there ;) At the moment they are renovating the city because it's very old and there's a clear lack of maintenance in some areas. Thank you for those really nice images! Hope you enjoyed your trip! ---------- For you to know, the destroyed bridge wasn't actually the original one. It has been bombed during ww2 and rebuilt after. Only the towers are original, and don't worry they kept them! They are renovating the towers and rebuilding the bridge almost exactly the same but just with a bigger arch in the middle for bigger boats ;)

I really like your vlog and especially the videos about Belgium, the country i've always been interested in and would like to visit again in the future - traveled only to Antwerp once, so, of course i'am waiting for more vids taken in various parts of the state, especially it would be nice to see something from the Ardennes region where the famous battle of the bulge took place in winter 1944.

After watching your videos together with city walks 4k i always get a full impression of various areas. it's much better than what they show on tv, particularly with clowning tv presenters. Eén van de mooiste steden van België. Vanuit Kortrijk kijken we toch met jaloezie naar het erfgoed van onze buren. Wel spijtig dat het allemaal zo slecht onderhouden is en dat er zo weinig beweegt in de stad.

Ma ville :D c'est vrai que c'est une belle ville avec beaucoup de bons commerce mais ce n'est plus comme avant. 20 ans en arrière il y avait beaucoup plus de magasins (même de cafés) et des gens partout dans les rues. Maintenant il y a beaucoup moins de monde dans les rues et pas mal de commerces qui ferment ou qui ont fermés.

Salut Jimmy. On ne peut pas considérer Tournai comme une ville mais plutôt comme un grand village. Ce n’est pas une ville développée et il n’ y a aucun commerce qui tient le coup. Niveau offres emploi c’est nul de chez nul. Aucune grosse entreprise n’ose s’implanter à Tournai. Travaux à répétitions , parking payants dans des rues pleines de caca ( berk ) , pas de belles offres commerciales ni de belles ristournes , peu de diversités culturelles , des transports en commun à la ramasse ( et je ne parle même pas des trains 😤 ) , une gare qui s’illumine le soir mais où les quais sont remplis de barakis qui puent la cara . Lille est une ville et même Tourcoing est une ville , Roubaix est une ville. Pas Tournai.

on the surface it looks like a nice city. these are only appearances. I lived there for almost 10 years. people are poorly educated, unfriendly and hypocritical. there are non-stop works, holes in the roads. the public service is deplorable, the trains are never on time. the station is horribly dirty, filled with beer cans and cigarette butts. Besides there is nothing to do there. It is a dead city. And at night it is not that secure! I left this city and I am very happy!

So sad to hear this Jurgen... I actually cannot know how it is to live in this city. It was only my second time in Tournai and twice I had a good time here... It is always a big difference to go somewhere as a tourist and to actually live there. 😉
