I’m a 13 hcp, I’d been shooting 80-85 for weeks leading up to my first tournament. At my tournament I shot a 96, and a 100 hahaha. I know how you feel. I really like the tournament videos, I hope you compete more. Keep it up bro!

I can feel this round in my bones. Early August I carded my two career rounds at 77. This past week I’ve just barely squeaked to sub 90 on a few rounds. Golf is a rollercoaster

Thanks for sharing Adam. Competition golf is a different animal. I carded a net even par round in a group competition last weekend which was my best all year. And that’s after nearly derailing the entire round on the front 9. Golf is a grind and it’s why we all love this game. Keep posting videos and sharing your journey.

Keep your head up. Tourney Golf is a different animal. I played in the club championship at Industry Hills in 2002. I was a 6 Hdp. Tried a hero shot and ended up hitting a tree root on 9. I ripped up my shoulder. I started to play again 21 years later. 4 Months in and I am striking the ball. There is hope and even after a very long layoff I better accept the good and the bad. Go get them next time.

One thing I noticed in this video, is that a good amount of the "bad shots" weren't bad, but rather the course management was poor, and you kept missing in the wrong spots. In my opinion a bad shot is when you blade one out of the bunker or chunk it short of the green, having solid contact and just missing it wrong isn't bad shot, but bad prep or vision. Just my 2 cents, love the content and honesty as always!
@cpall056 Жыл бұрын
I think this speaks to the difference between a bad swing and a bad shot. A bad swing is a duff or shank or chunk or whatever, where the result is going to be poor because of the swing or contact itself. A bad shot could be a fantastic strike and great swing, but aimed at the wrong spot still means it's a bad shot (pros would likely agree). This is why planning to miss in the right spot and missing there due to a bad swing is a "good shot" while going pin hunting and making a fantastic swing that finds the bunker because you misjudged the uphill is a "bad shot" in relative terms.

Some tough holes on this course! Even during a tough round, you always keep your attitude from spiraling into negativity. I find your approach inspirational and can learn much from you.

Adam: golf is the most alluring mistress but also the most cruel. Some days the swing is just not there. You did a brilliant job of not totally flipping out and finished strong. Tournament golf is a different animal.

had a similar occasion myself where im consistently in the low 80s then as soon as i enter a tournament it all goes to pot...its obviously some kind of anxiety where we overthinks things...it makes sense as to why i play so much better on my own

Thanks for sharing. Tournament golf is hard. I've found that even though trying to "take my medicine" when in recovery positions, like yourself, it seems that if it weren't for bad luck and have no luck at all. I only play club champs, the this year was the first time in 4 (x2) attempts that I have played anywhere near my handicap. Thanks for sharing.. you'll get there.

Had our club championship and I was doing great in the practice round. Then the real round came and played bad. Day 2 was even worse. Definitely agree that tournament golf is another animal.

Just played my first tournament this weekend as a 6.5. Was hoping to shoot 82 at worst and shot an 85 in back to back days. Started with a quad day 1 and ended with a double, double, bogey. Went into the 2nd day 7 over going into 17. I’ve never had so many pars and birdies surrounded with big numbers. Tournament nerves were real.

16 at Kings Links might challenge for toughest par 4 in my books. That hole is a par 5 with the wind most days. But I guess that’s Metro Van. Not just Vancouver.
@MrSaints749 ай бұрын
That was like most of my rounds of golf, but your recovery is 10 times better than mine. Me drive into trees, punch out, 3rd shot shank, 4th shot off green, 5th shot thin the chip, and 3 putt.

IMHO golf is crazy mental. Saturday played at a crazy nice course that I didn't deserve to play on and was so tight/ nervous which lead to a TERRIBLE round. Next day at a nice course but not like the day prior played way looser and shaved 14 strokes off. Weird how that works. Same crappy swing, different results.

Maybe change the name of the channel to "Not a tournament golfer".Just kidding. Tournament golf is very hard at any level, especially when you don't do it very often. Even playing a fun scramble charity tournament can bring out the nerves when you least want them. You just never know until you test yourself.
