I bet that none of these guys thought that 11K people would be watching their evening of fun. Jimmy is truly a great man, who is obviously driven to create a living masterpiece that will never be finished. Please keep making more of these videos.

Outstanding! I clicked because my grandparents lived on Huron river Dr. & Northline road at Romulus. Mostly all farmland except the airport back then. I used to race slots at Ypsi . Wayne Hobby shop was heaven in the sixties!

This race from 2013 one from over 30 years ago or from last weekend all share the same thing. The wonder from seeing this track. Eyes darting from one detailed area to the next and then the cars are selected from the full gambit of just about any car to ever have raced. Then from that first trigger pull the years fall away and the age of gold is revisited. Jimmy Attard has not only created a one of a kind slot car track he has built a time machine.

As I understand it the cars have diodes and the track power is a train transformer.
@jimmyattard14467 ай бұрын
Yes, Bruce. Sorry it took so long to reply. My track can run two analog cars at the same time with independent control using an AC transformer rather than a D power supply. We can run 8 cars of any make at one time. Each driver has two slots cut for him around the track. One on either side of the roadway. This allows for passing once a driver changes to the other slot. Thanks for your nice comment, my friend. Please go back and share Ryans Lunch King videos of our track with your friends.

Fantastic track! It must be tough to pass on however.
@jimmyattard14462 жыл бұрын
Dave the laps are 150 long so if you change lanes to the opposite side of the track you have plenty of opportunity to pass your opponent before you get back to the lane changer. It's not as tough as it sounds my friend. Go back and share this segment with your friends and subscribe because the guys are planning more videos about the track and more.

Can these cars be speed regulated ? It looked to me like the cars were somehow scaled to the speed as well. I just picked up a HUGE box of about 30 1950's -1960's slot cars that are about 5-5 inches long ( Don't know the scale ) and I'm hoping to find a track. I would like to be more true to scale when I build so it would be cool if the cars could be slowed down to scale Thanks, Watching from B.C. Canada

This layout certainly shows the devotion and labor invested in its creation. And it has accumulated an enviable worldwide social circle for its creator. Incidentally, although my calculation says a 1/32-scale car simulating 150 mph should move along the track at about 6.9 feet per second, Jimmy's cars seem faster. Or is it that they don't slow down much if at all for curves.
@jimmyattard14467 ай бұрын
Sorry it took so long to reply Keith. As I've said in ot g er videos I suggest that all track builders bank e eryturn just a bit for smoother racing. Our AC power probably runs cars a hair slower than DC actually. We run without magnets pulling cars down so racing is far more realistic. Thanks for your nice comment, my friend. Please go back and share Ryans Lunch King videos of our track with your friends.

Oh I do r got to say that this track was designed and built ten years before digital. All cars on Northline are analog. Any make of car can change lanes. Please see the Lunch asking channel for all the info CS!

This so amazing. It's like real racing. The cars so close together and not able to pass at some points and able to pass at others. So how do we get this track replicated (at least in a small way) at some vendor, so we can buy it and have this at home? I don't have 30 years to build one of these... :)
@ivsgarage35462 жыл бұрын
Amazing work of art, the attention to detail is phenomenal. I was wondering if you could showcase how the passing is actually done on the tracks? Do the controllers have a trigger and a switch track button? Great stuff and thanks in advance for showcasing this.
@jimmyattard14462 жыл бұрын
Yes IVS, There is a switch on each controller that operates each drivers ability to switch to a separate slot on the opposite side of the track. Visit the Lunch King channel for the documentary that describes things.
