Thanks for posting this. I had forgotten about Tourniquet until I saw Ted Kirkpatrick give a drum clinic recently. Absolutely amazing. Never was a huge Christian Metal fan (thanks mainly to Stryper and bands like Bloodgood) but Tourniquet was very different. May have to pick up their early stuff just for the pure musicianship.

you just hit the nail on the head. i was good friends with mike ruso when he recorded on vanishing lessons... kirkpatrick totally screwed russo. cut him out of the photos, he was just plain mean. and i remember russo was really hurt by that. Russo was an INCREDIBLE guitarist. absolute virtuosoand undiscovered guitar legend.

Ummm, no, that is one of the best drummers in metal, let alone the world, I think you're just not hearing exactly what he's doing... if you're talking about 3:25-3:36, that is a polyrhythm in some parts, and can sound strange to the untrained ear. that guy is world class, coming from a drummer you can trust.
