I live in a rural area and am one of the only Jews (together with my daughters) here. The area is predominantly Christian. I am non practicing. My daughters were forced to move school due to ongoing antisemitism against them. I spoke very loudly about this and had many meetings with the school. I alerted the local governmental body about antisemitic hate crime and the police were involved as we had witnesses. During the aftermath of this my daughters and myself lost all our friends. @Renni Denni When I believed in the trinity I understood it just as we are and it was very simple. Spirit in human form and a soul [holy spirit when you are born again] that connects us to the Spirit [father] . Before JC our soul is preoccupied with the cares and desires of this life. Born again means you become preoccupied with things above to improve.

I searched so long the true, in so many churches and deminations I felt something is wrong. No one and no teaching convinced me. Even the threat of hell or apocalipse could impress me. Then, since a few weeks I heard Rabbi Singer and another Rabbi and for the first time all lost pieces came together and I experience right now a real liberation. Knowing that the only God I always felt and experienced through my hole life is the same an the one Rabbi Singer is preaching!! The sincerity in the callers voice brought tears to my eyes because I can tell how deeply she wants the truth and to follow G-d. I was there as an ex Christian. Christians seem to want it both ways. On one hand, they want us to view them as monotheists believing in the same god that Jews do, but then on the other hand they believe that you’re going to hell unless you believe in Jesus. The father alone isn’t enough. So which is it? Do you believe in what Jews believe or do you add to it? For me, I grew up Christian big left the system for Judaism about 6 years ago. It was a tough choice because I gave a family and a wife and they go to church while I go to synagogue. I cannot convince my wife otherwise since her beliefs are apart if her culture ( Mennonite). And I respect that . But what did it was the concept that why don’t we go to the Jews for learning and teaching if that is what the first church was all about ? If Jesus was a Jew then I should learn as he learned . I began to realize that Christianity is a faith according to Paul, and he set the standards on how to live. He took everything that was Jewish and turned it upside down . Now I serve G-D that I see fit according g to Tanach. So if your not Christian than it’s hard to come to grasp that the faith you have is not monotheistic. It’s really hard . Because that’s all you know . You began to realize that your faith in Christianity was base on feelings. You are a sinner and so distant from G-D. Thus you need Jesus . It’s all emotion base. Study Tenach and you see differently.

From an Islamic perspective, idolatry is forbidden, because the idol is a body. By "body" I mean something with a size and a shape, large or small, alive or inanimate; something with incidental characteristics that require specification and something that needs to be brought into existence by the One Who makes it so. Anything other than The Creator, that is taken as an object of worship, either as an icon that represents God, a Divine attribute, or a righteous creature, be it an angel or a man, or in a more typical/simplistic way; i.e. a statue made of stone or a puppet carved out of wood that people worship as their deity, direct their prayers towards, supplicate to, love and fear, or even offer items of food and drink to. All bodies are by definition created, and worshipping creations is idolatry, by definition. So coming to trinitarianism, it should be clear that Jesus was undoubtedly and undeniably a human being: a soul and a body, and since souls and bodies are created by God Almighty, then worshipping Jesus Christ is idolatry just the same. If the lady calling doesn't believe that The Creator became part of the created world, and that Jesus was not the incarnated word of God, or God incarnate, then she is closer to Judaism and Islam, in terms of her theological beliefs, than she is to mainstream Christianity.

I agree with you Tovia. I simply stated that I don't believe Jesus is God to my assistant pastor and he set up a lunch meeting to convince me otherwise. When he couldn't convince me with garbage passages because I responded with sound logic from other new testament passages, he became very concerned that I knew scripture. I quit going to church altogether 6 months ago because I couldn't stand listening to a pastor call Jesus the Man God. I became an outcast from Christianity, and I was fine with that. Since then I found you and learned quite a bit, and researched quite a bit on my own. The new testament is The New Test, a blatant lie of decievers as far as I can gather. The contradictions and claims of the new testament are astounding, it not only contradicts itself but attempts to shred the entire "old testament". I have rejected my religion of 36 years and I seek to learn more about what the ONLY God teaches me through His word. I'm figuring it out, but I'm ok with not belonging to the cult of many well meaning Christians. Luckily my wife is logical as well and is following me on this journey. I accept that I am not what God wants me to be and am pursuing righteousness, the best I can, but I am strangely comfortable knowing that I will be judged by the almighty Hashem. Once I realized Jesus was a lie, it makes it easier to accept the commandments as a benchmark. I know I am not worthy of Him, and never will be, but I pray he can accept me despite my imperfect nature. I seek to improve myself, and I love Hashem. I have to accept responsibility for my actions and thoughts, but to do so is to admit daily that I need to improve. Helping Jews to obtain a kosher burial is also VERY important and we helped to help stem the tide of cremation where we live in S. Florida by helping to consecrate a brand new cemetery there to make these burials more affordable so that Jews won't cremate which is a chait/sin. We have also helped support farmers keep Shmitta this year in Eretz Yisrael. We help support women to not abort their babies with financial and emotional support so as to not help hitler/yemach shemo/may his name be erased! succeed in obliteraing Am Yisrael/the Jewish People. We also help rescue Jewish young women and their children who have been kidnapped/lured to arab/moslem settlements in Eretz Yisrael and bring them back home to our Jewish people. There are MANY avenues to help our people...and every single one has merit in His Eyes. All that we want to do is give back to our Abba in Shamayim and allow him to shep some nachas from how we live our lives and do as He Wants us to do. I do not usually leave comments but felt compelled to based off of Rabbi Singer’s response to a very sincere question by a very sincere woman. My issue is not with the substance of the rabbi’s response but rather with his statement saying that there are “well over 2 billion Christians in the world.” This is untrue according to the words of Jesus in the New Testament which I believe to be inspired by God. “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again [born from above] he cannot see the kingdom of God.” And this statement by my Lord: “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” I grew up Catholic and I have absolutely no idea how a true born again Christian could remain in that idolatrous church. Nothing it does is based off of scripture. Unduly using a broad brush to identify true Christians with a false church that may have no real Christian’s in it but at the very least is run and propped up by false teachers masquerading as “holy men” is in my opinion making a desperate argument and is self-refuting to the words of Jesus who is by his actions, words, and resurrection the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Rabbi, you are the one who needs to repent of your idolatry of rejecting the Son of God who is Messiah and most fully reveals the words, work, and person of the Father. They are one!

Judaism has had a preserving task, so everyone else has had no choice but to turn to Jews for the original. Whether Christians, Muslims, Bahai... It was Jews who had the light. The irony is that they themselves did not really want the job. Jonah did not really want to be a messenger. Moses did not want to be a messenger. The Jews wanted to just be left alone. Somehow God chose them, sent them into so many exiles and persecutions. Shame on the nations that persecuted them, rejecting the light of the one God, and ethics, morality, clean principles. Civilization itself has been planted wherever God "sent" the Jews. One of the positive side-effects of someone like Rabbi Singer and his scholarship is that truth will help expose the missionaries who target Jews for conversion. The "curse" of exile has been the "blessing" that this people had the time and motivation to seek haShem, to study, to immerse themselves in past generations of Jews. Our sufferings can cause us to draw closer to God. He is not a "respecter of persons." Torah means "law" but it also means teaching, instruction, tradition. So like you allude to, the halachic dimension is always just around the corner. Talmud is loaded with back-and-forth. Jews in essence debating with other Jews, till somehow God speaks clearly and one side or the other gains the clear imprimatur of "canonicity." Those are Christian based words, but that is essentially the gist. Even past outcasts eventually get absorbed back in the mainstream. I'm sorry I do not have expertise in the specific hypotheticals your ask about, but such questioning has a Jewish tinge to it. Most legal writings were in Aramaic rather than Hebrew, but the languages are quite close.

As to a point of view I think you should think about, Muslims say that Issa was al Masih (the Messiah). He was also son of Mary (Ibn Miryam). However, Issa did not die on the cross. He appeared to die but did not die. Jews cannot be Christ-killers. In other words, if Muslims are right, Jesus did not die on the cross. HE LIVES.

May Allah(swt) guide my words that I not offend. I am an American Muslim who does not understand either Arabic or Hebrew at this time. My Quran is the 1930 translation ( see: Yusuf Ali) and I have been using a Greek translation (see: Vulgate) of the Bible to examine early Judaic writings. However, after watching Rabbi Singer's presentation I have doubts about how accurate these Greek versions are. Does the corruption of Hebrew texts filter into the Judaic renderings in the Greek translations? Is there an acceptable or well regarded source for we who want to study Judaic texts but do not understand ancient Hebrew? May Allah bestow blessings for any guidance you can provide.

There's just so many scriptures where we are warned to worship the Father only and not to give His glory to another. I see a lot of christians replacing the Father with him or saying that he IS the Father. For me it wasn't just scriptures, I always had a problem with the NT being written in greek and just knowing about the hell-enization that occured around that time. None of them actually wrote any of it except for maybe Paul, and I hate Paul. But the main thing is that it says the messiah comes AFTER the last day, and it says it's David. And there's nothing about the messiah being sacrificed for the atonement of our sins or that if we don't believe in him or his sacrifice that we go to hell.

So here are the ones where He calls David His holy one, branch, servant, son, and anointed. Israel is referred to as the firstborn son and servant as well. Psalm 89:18-51 Psalm 2:7-9 Psalm 16:10-11 Psalm 18:43-50 Psalm 132:13-18 Isaiah 4:2 and 11:1 Chapter 11 is also where you can see that when THE messiah reigns it's after the last day because there is universal peace and righteousness so it definitely has not happened yet. This is not the only place it says that, but unfortunately it's the only one that comes to mind at the moment. If I remember or find it in my notes I'll add them later, I'm not half as learned as our Jewish friends here. Jeremiah 30:9 Hosea 3:4-5 Ezekiel 34:23-31 Ezekiel 37:24 Also in Ezekiel 18 you can see that everyone is responsible for their own sins, especially verse 20. He says many times throughout the OT that if you repent and return to Him, you're forgiven and that's it. I'm probably leaving a few out but that's a good start to at least see.

As a former trinity Christian I never thought of it being multiple gods and it's counter productive to think that is what trinitarians think. They do not know what the left side of their Bible says. The trinity is the belief that G-d is made of parts but operates as a unit of one. I understand it just fine, but I know more now from Tenak. And do not underestimate science.

I understood the trinity as one's own body. The Father is the Spirit within which animates the body. The soul is our affections; heavenward or earthly; being the part needing to switch affections. Understood this way, and it is supported well enough in Christian verses, it is logical. "Who being the fullness of the G-dhead in bodily form." I spent FIVE yrs on this doctrine and Hebrews wrapped it up. This is how many Christians also understand it. It is useless to use the 3 in 1 argument as illogical.
