@@Slmn249 It's confusing and funny for Towa to watch Korone yank the cables and the cartridge as soon as things start bugging out, then start blowing on it, but anyone who grew up with those machines remembers doing it and would do the exact same thing. Yanking the cart, blowing on it, and plugging it back in was something we all did, and we all did as soon as anything went wrong. Since it was a physical object, dust could get in there and disrupt contact. Similarly, the cables could become loose or dirty, especially if you were always unplugging them and plugging them back in, something you'd have to do on older televisions. The comment is about Towa laughing at something that us greybeards would've done without a second thought, too.

Tradition-wise yes, realistically, blowing on a cartridge only accellerates corrosion in the pins. The act of unplugging and plugging back in is what actually results in it working again. Blowing only does something if it's been unused for eternity and filled with dust, but that's about it

@@3AnxiousFerretsInATrenchcoat There's that guy whinging about blowing into the cartridge. I knew I'd find one in the comment section. My dude, stop going into every comment section winging about corrosion. Your breath from blowing into the cart briefly isn't really enough to cause any kind of meaningful issue. You'd have to be in a lab and having someone blowing into the cart for years on end to start making a difference vs a control cart. The air in your house is going to expose the pins to more humidity than you breathing on it, especially if you don't have A/C, which lots of people didn't back then. This whole thing about blowing on the cart corroding the pins is just contrarians after the fact trying to ruin people's fun or repeating an urban legend.

Sometimes you miss the good old days when you would slap the TV if it froze or the sound stopped working and it would work. People would say blowing the cartridge didn't work but every-time we did it, it worked. Dust builds up so we did what we knew worked for us. New games have better graphics/gameplay/controls but they can never recreate the interactions we all had with family and friends. Playing games locally since online play didn't exist, pulling your controller thinking it moved the character or you were too into the moment and got excited and accidentally plugging out your controller. Throwing your controller on the floor or at someone out of frustration knowing it won't break since they were practically made of concrete with how robust and strong they were 😅. Good times.
