So glad you love my videos! The planting method is same. But if I am not wrong the Poinsett variety flowers are not self pollinating and need pollination to set fruit. Having bee-loving flowers around the plants will help pollinations. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!😊

Plants such as cucumbers, squash, pumpkins... have very sensitive roots and don't do well when seedlings roots are being disturb. If you are super careful, they may thrive, but if you don't want to waste any seedlings, sow individually in extra pots. Hope this helps and thank you for visiting.

Hi! Love all of your videos. The cucumber plants in your video, am I seeing it right that you only grow them single stem/the main one and pinched off all suckers/auxilary stems? Thank you.

I only remove first few leaves and side shoots when plants are young. Otherwise I let suckers grow and produce more fruits. This variety usually start developing suckers when plants are mature. If you notice toward the end of the video, the vines are more crowded. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!

Since our summers are hot and dry, I water them daily. But if you check the soil and it is wet, skip watering. And more leaves they grow, more water is needed. Hope this helps and thanks for getting in touch!

I would like to know why you have to thin out to one strongest seedling per pot? Can you not plant both?

The small pots have room for only one seedling to develop and mature. For some seedlings, it is possible to separate them and replant in another pots, but that is not recommended for cucumbers since they have very sensitive roots and usually don't do well with pricking out. You want to avoid disturbing roots. You still can keep and plant both but they will not grow to their best. Hope this helps and thank you for visiting!

@@TowardGarden I'm glad that we are both in Zone 9b. From my understanding, it's too late for us to plant cool season flower seeds and cool season crop seeds/bulbs. But there may still be a chance for tomato, summer squash, and pumpkins. I hope you will make a chart date of when you plant seeds for summer crops and seeds for spring crops. For example, I learned that viola seeds can be planted 3 months before bloom date. For example Black Devil Pansy seeds can be planted in July for October bloom AND Bunny Ears viola seeds can be planted in January for Easter bloom.

So glad that I came across your video. I am growing Persian cucumbers for the first time on my balcony. I was able to see two cucumbers that were 5 inches long and dark green, so I went on ahead and harvested them. The other cucumber I left on my plant because the bottom part was normal size, but the top was a little skinny. When is it too early to pick these cucumbers or should i just continue to harvest them when they are between 5-7 inches long? Or should I wait till they get completely 7 inches long?

Glad you like the video.For cucumbers, the more you harvest the more fruits they will produce. so harvesting frequently and when they are young is better. Also, for Persian cucumber, younger fruits are tastier and crunchier so you don't need to wait, harvesting at 5 inch long is perfect. It depends on your local weather. It is better to start seeds when night temperatures are consistently above 55°F (13°C). I'd say for cold winters, April-June is good. Happy growing and thank you so much for your comment!😊
