Imagine you are watching a pre-recorded movie. You know exactly how the plot unfolds because you've seen it before. However, your knowledge of the plot doesn’t influence the characters’ actions-they’ve already acted according to their script. Now, imagine you’re also the director who wrote the script and determined every scene. In this case, the characters have no real freedom; they are only acting out what you’ve decreed. So is Allah more like the viewer or the director? If He is both, can true free will exist?

A teacher tells a student, “I know exactly how you’ll perform on this test because I know everything about you. Based on this, I’ve already written your grade.” If the grade is already written, can the student truly change the outcome, no matter how hard they try? Does the student genuinely have a choice, or are they just proving the teacher right? Now replace the teacher with Allah and the grade with destiny. If Allah has already "written" your destiny based on foreknowledge of your behaviour, can you ever act differently? If not, where is your free will?

This is what prevents us from time travel. Brings in higher dimensions exist outside of time and can see us as an infant, adult, and old man all at once. It's mind-boggling really.

This is the best explanation and comprehensive about the topic of destiny. We don't have a choice Where we are going to live (born) or When we are going to die. But we have a choice on How we are going to live whether to follow the Right path (Islam) or other path. And we are given time until our unknown appointed time to depart this world.

So glad I came across this, really love this video. My perception and perspective of time are a bit different. From my understanding, I always thought that Allah gave us free will so we have a choice in our actions. It is through our actions we learn from the tests of life Allah gives us. From my understanding I always thought Allah knows every outcome, including the ones we didn’t take. With the all knowing Allah knows the paths we chose and didn’t choose. Perhaps the paths we have taken are a constant reminder that Allah continues to take care of us and we are unaware. It would explain Allah is there with you when no one else is and all he asks is for your own faith in Allah.

.....btw..... Jesus did preach to worship the OneGod/TheCreator and not anything else, and so did his followers, peace be upon them all. This unsettled the Roman Empire because this idea of Monotheism went against their pagan beliefs where the emperor was both emperor and god. They persecuted the followers of Jesus and even attempted to kill Jesus, even a Roman Empire servant Saul of Tarsus was out to kill Jesus. Saul never managed to meet Jesus in real life but after Jesus was taken up to Heaven Saul said he saw a dream and said he will now preach the teachings of Jesus. Saul of Tarsus is also known in todays christianity as Saint Paul, so todays christians are actually on the teaching of ''Saint'' Paul which brings in trinity and godhead figure of Jesus and rejects Monotheism. -Jesus was commanded to preach Monotheism, which he did and early followers were Monotheistic (Islamic) believing people, which later changed with the Roman Empires paganism spreading -Jesus was commanded to preach ONLY to the Israelites, which he did, but after him Saul of Tarsus aka ''saint Paul'' started to preach to the Gentiles, which is the foundation of todays christiandom. -Jesus was commanded to rule for the circumsicion which he did, but it was taken out after he left -Roman Empire in 325 AD held a council, with empire alligned 'scholars'' to decide and VOTE on whether Jesus was to be worshipped or not, they VOTED that Jesus be accepted as god (in aliagn with the pagan beliefs of the Roman traditions) and ever since the trinity became the 'christian way' (not what Jesus preached), and sinc that time the Church has chronicled how many times the ''Bible'' has been changed, verses removed and verses added to SUIT this altered idea of trinity! Best wishes, life is short.

@@Poltergeist7814As the video explains at 6:39 "Allah's knowledge of events doesn't impose or destroy our free will, but rather reflects the reality of those events as they are." Allah's knowledge of reality doesn't change it but confirms it. The video gives an example at 6:47 for a better understanding. What that simply means is that destiny is what Allah has written for each one of us since he knows how we will live our lives. Having knowledge of what we do doesn't take away from our free will as stated at 6:39. Knowledge doesn't change reality, it just confirms to it. Now, destiny is divided in two types. Watch the video from 7:19 as it clarifies Voluntary Destiny and Involuntary Destiny. Involuntary destiny is when Allah decides for us and we don't have a choice (no free will). Voluntary destiny is when we do have a choice (free will) and for which we will be held accountable on the day of judgement. As for "can destiny be changed?" is explainable in two parts (refer to 12:16 in the video). There is Conditional decree aka Suspended decree and the other is Absolute decree aka Fixed destiny. It is important to watch the full video and understand the concept of destiny because your example and comment lets me to believe that you haven't fully grasp the difference between destiny and free will.

@Poltergeist7814 The analogy is flawed because it compares Allah's perfect knowledge to a human teacher's limited understanding. Allah knows your choices because He is beyond time, but His knowledge does not force your actions-you still have free will. Islam emphasizes effort, and your actions determine your outcome. Misusing such analogies creates confusion and misunderstands Islamic teachings. So dont make confusion in peoples mind okh

@@FirdausAhmad-jm6et Yes Allah has knowledge, but our destiny is "prewritten". Allah has written our destiny based on his foreknowledge about how we humans will use our free will. My question is can a person go against what Allah has written (based on the knowledge he encompasses)? If no, then that is not true free will.
@FirdausAhmad-jm6et12 күн бұрын
@@Poltergeist7814 Allah is All-Knowing and knows everything about our past, present, and future, but His knowledge doesn’t mean He forces us to act in a certain way. There’s a big difference between knowing and forcing. Example: Imagine you’re standing on a hill and see two trains on the same track coming toward each other. You know they will crash because of their speed and direction, so you write down, “The trains will crash in a few minutes.” When the crash happens, did it happen because you wrote it? No, it happened because of the trains’ own paths and actions. Similarly, Allah knows everything we will do, but His knowledge doesn’t force us to make those choices. We act with free will, and He simply knows the outcome because His knowledge is beyond time and human understanding. If we didn’t have free will, accountability and judgment wouldn’t make sense in Islam. Bro if you have more confuion re watch the video

Whether I can make sense of it or not, I already know that I have free will, I have consciousness, regardless of I am being able to understand it with rationales. What I struggle with is this: How can there be something happened without Allah's own and only action? How can free will even exist? Only the eternal being (Allah) should be able to act, nothing else, everything else should be just the effects of his actions and initialization. If I do something, I don't understand how I am doing it by my own, cause there are a lot of things that's happening for me able to do it. For example, If I want to walk, every cells of my leg have to able to act in harmony and in a certain way, the wind, the place, the space, the gravity, everything has to be in a specific position for me to be able to walk. And everything is here in this position is because of how the past was in an exact order. There couldn't anyhow else the position be that it is right now because of how the past was. So It all starts with the initialization of the eternal being (Allah), if everything is how it is because of the past, than only the beginning of the events is responsible for how it is right now. But my senses don't agree with that, cause I can feel my consciousness outside of being a puppet in the events.Than the other option can be applied here which is, there are actions that can occur outside of the eternal being (Allah)'s action, but that shouldn't be the case, cause in that case those outside action doers will be also eternal beings or something, how can something happen outside of Allah's boundary, that's not possible, Subhanahu, Allah is the most perfect. I cannot think of more than one central eternal being that can be responsible for the chain of events, where the events are totally in harmony with each other. If there are more than one central being in this stage, than the question would how did they got generated in the first place, if multiple beings are there, they have to come from a central point, a central point must be one, multiple things cannot be the center, and without a center, things cannot happen in harmony. Pardon me for my ugibugi understandings, but it really confuses me. I can think of only two options, but neither of them make sense to me, and there is no other option logically (according to my brain). In the end, I just think, I don't have to understand this thing, it seems impossible to comprehend, not this or that make sense to me. That's why we make sujud, we lower our brain than the heart in the prostration, cause our brain cannot encompass everything that we experience. Rabbi audhubika min hamajatish-shayatin.

Thanks to Towards Eternity. It is still a complex subject. I'll have to watch it several times to fully understand. But I can say surely 'Destiny' is something beyond the understanding of human brain. Like Time travel, Origin of Universe, Existence, Infinity ect. 😀

It's such a complex topic. I have been contemplating about it for months now but still feel kinda confused. Thank u for sharing this. I'll Inshaallah make sure to rewatch it several times before I truly grasp the concept of it. Jazakallah Khair
