I have a similar situation I met my boyfriend when I was Christian. I’ve converted to Islam and want to do things the halal way now but since I’m black American and his family is Iraqi they want to pick someone they know. I'm currently 24 and unfortunately divorced and the part where you mentioned that there are 5 stages I really cried cause even though we both were really good people, it was a marriage my family convinced me to do it and in the 4th stage I was the only one trying to solve and find solutions to the problems while fighting where as he was only arguing, saying sorry but wanting me to back off and come back and follow him instead. I felt like I had no voice and he wouldn't make ne understand or understand me at all but just say sorry like a robot (being 12 years elder than me). I know asking for Khula was the last resort I had and I do feel terrible sometimes. But InshaAllah I'll pray to find someone as you mentioned, who fits me in all 3 criteria just like I'll be for him and that we both follow the 5 stages of marriage together. Aameen!
