If you do PHX again here are some tips from a Phoenix Tower controller. You wouldn't say their callsigns as American one Eight Two Six, you'd say "American eighteen twenty six" for four digit callsigns. For three digit callsigns you'd say "American three twenty seven" You need 6000 feet of spacing between departures, but an easy indicator is once the departing aircraft is past the other side of the runway you can issue the next takeoff clearance. But if you have an airplane depart behind a heavy jet (747, DC10, MD11, A380 etc) you need to wait 2 minutes before the next guy takes off. In the real world 25R is for departures and 26/25L are for arrivals. Jeff should have the airplanes on the 26 side of the airport taxi down R to get to 25R. Also you don't want to have two airplanes takeoff on two runways at the same time (like having American takeoff on 26 while Southwest takes off on 25R) because if they are going in the same direction they won't have any spacing in the air. In real world only Tower can taxi aircraft on the F taxiway (the one between 25R and 25L) ground cannot do that. This is because Tower is the only person that clear people to cross runways. So there's no point for Ground to talk to people on F because they have to be handed off to Tower for the runway crossing.

You may already know this, but I've been able to redirect ground traffic (already directed to Runway X) to Runway Y....provided there's an available route to Runway Y...by saying, for example, "TAB123, Runway Y"...(they confirm)..."TAB123, Runway Y, taxi via A"...(they confirm). This has helped me sooooo much when I get a departing runway backed up and need to redirect a bunch of planes to another departing runway. ANOTHER nice tip I've learned is to pause the game (when things get waaaay too crazy), figure out what I want to do to resolve the issues and issue all the Pushback/Taxi/etc commands WHILE paused....and they'll be carried out when un-paused. Yay! Great sim!

At Sky Harbor they have arrivals on 26 and most departures on 25 R. Smaller aircraft depart and arrive on 25 L. Jeff will need to send his departures to 25 R if you do Sky Harbor again which I hope you do. Good job for your first time at Sky Harbor.

Usually when an arrival has to cross the runway that planes are departing from the Tower controller gives them clearance to cross the runway. Maybe you guys should control a more simple airport likes KSAN or TIST

Only regionals takeoff on 25L most of the time. Sometimes they throw older 737's over there but not often. 25L is reserved for landings of aircraft that don't need more runway and are based on that side of the airport so far as I know. I live in Phoenix and my father was a Southwest captain.

hey Buggs, its possible this wont be read but figured I try. First, when you were entering the commands, some of them pop up fully; ex: on arrivals, if you click on them, they sometimes pop up with cleared to land command (may help for those tough/finicky airliners). Second, I just want to say thank you for all the vids you put out. No matter what, keeping doing you man; its your life. DOJ and/or new games, you always have final say on what you show us. remember that and enjoy what you do......despite the stress the planes and FEDEX may bring here XD For anybody that does this for a living, is it really this crazy at some airports or does the game exaggerate the amount of planes a bit for rush hour? I honestly don't know and I'm a bit curious.

Bugs, Maybe Jeff should do the landings and take offs. I think, ground control would be easier for you. Also you can't wait to tell planes to land on different runways when they are in the glide path. The glide path is that dash line on your radar. If a plane too close to airport... It will turn around and go to start of the glide path for that other runway.

Breaking News! After a long and lengthy court case spanning four years, the verdict is finally in on the multiple air collisions that occured above Pheonix Airport in 2018. Two air traffic controllers have been found guilty on all counts of extreme negligence and 736 charges of manslaughter. One controller was found to under the influence of drugs and alcohol and the other it seems had a mental breakdown on his rookie day in the tower. Both have been fined $10M US and have been sentenced to 25 years in prison. Condolences go out to the friends and families of all the victims, who at least have some closure. Such a sad sad day in Pheonix.
