I loved TOWER AIR, loved it. I flew them all the time from NYC to SJU and back. And I was working for American Airlines around this time!

this is beyond awesome. i see this 741 was first with BA. wow. history! i love it! i wonder where it is now... hopefully not scrapped, but i'm positive it is..

Was scrapped after sitting in the desert for years, then turned into TUNA FISH & SARDINE CANS!... Tower Air was famous for flying the highest cycles, poorly maintained fleet of 74's in the sky! ( Make no mistake about it! )(I know , I flew for them for over ten years. Until the owner drove the company into the ground- caused by all the millions of dollars that were paid out to FAA for the owner knowingly allowing the aircraft to fly with improper maintennence to a majority of his fleet consisting of 26 Boeing 747-100, -200 (three of which were converted to all Cargo...( it all came to an abrupt end when the company went bankrupt, and was liquidated.

I remember back in 1999, I flew Tower Air 747 from JFK to the Dominican Republic practically had the entire plane to myself for whatever reason that fight didn't have too many passengers, and the coach felt more like first class. Now, when you fly, you feel like a packed sardines 😅

Kind of weird to see a United States operator like Tower Air only do charter and international flights from cities like Miami , Los Angeles, New York, and Las Vegas to Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, and other overseas destinations without bothering to add domestic USA service. It was only a matter of time before they shut down.

They did have regular scheduled service . Flew it many times between JFK- LAX in Business class back in the '90s . as a matter of fact this flight is probably returning to JFK .

Tower did scheduled flights to Miami, LAX, & SJU for years.

They didn't fly international out of Vegas. Only flew between LAS-JFK from Vegas, I believe 2X per week, Sunday and Thursday.
