I know it's not the intended way, but I really like to watch stuff like this with no sound to see if they still work, and my god this still feels so right. Like, the sound design is great, obviously, but even without any of it, this doesn't lose any of the impact or weight it has. This feels like an actual space scene. You could do realistic sound physics for this and it would still hold up. Amazing job.

What is the story behind the ship, the crew? Where is the destination? What is the motifs? Is the context necessary or the future chapter more in question? That, my friends, is what we ask when a snippet such as this gets created. Curiosity at its finest. Well done. (we need more sir, cliff hanger too good)
@henrycooper3431Күн бұрын
The ship seems to be one of the high tech remains of what was once a high tech human civillization, which is now used by the remmants on some small settlements from several solar systems to trade and keep each other alive. The crew is picked from the planet it departed from called "Braves", which is seen as an honor by the settlements but it's somewhat a tragedy, as the time dilation issue means that when they return home, their home will no longer be the same again. Their destination is the Holy City of Caro, a sort of underground industrial city on a planet in another solar system. Not sure what is the motif but you can find the basic info on their google doc which is pinned on their comment.

Everyone else has covered the praise you deserve, so a small note instead: When you make content wider than 16:9, make sure not to let your software render it at 16:9 because it adds black bars to the top and bottom that will make it display windowboxed on wider devices like modern big phones or ultrawide computer monitors.

The animation, sound design and filmography are fantastic! The illogical engineering hurts me physically..... But everything else is absolutely epic! Incase you want actual notes: - Things that detach are almost always outside, rather than inside of the craft. Those 'boosters' are way too likely to hit the circular panels when detaching, as well as all the debris from the detachment mechanism - While there is some momentum from detachment, it looks like the main craft is accelerating away from the discarded boosters. It would work if you put some sort of maneuvering jets on the main craft that are firing to push the main body away. - The main engine firing looks like a bit weird. There is footage from one of SpaceX's burn tests where they light starships engines in orbit which might give you some good reference. - The acceleration and camera movement are a bit weird in the shot at 1:12 - The hole in the front and the circular panels around the side seem a bit odd. While it's Scifi and purpose can always be 'because it looks cool' in the real world space and military equipment are basically NEVER decorative in any way. So if you can make it seem like they have some sort of purpose, perhaps something like 'gravity' manipulation/heat light-warping effects off the front or back, it makes scifi objects feel a lot more realistic.
