We need some down here in California! Sound so beautiful and very interesting, hopefully someday I can have the opportunity to ring one.

I would love to ring a bell one time I love the sound of bells
@jdi009311313 жыл бұрын
@MrUNIXman The rope is usually slightly longer. It doesnt effect the sound much because you have the whole tower to vibrate off. I love it when the tower starts to shake and wobble though.

St. Andrews Cathedral in Honolulu has a set of 8 change ringing bells. I just did a little video of them after church today (11/9/08). It is posted here. It's a very nice set of redundant bells from England.

I love this bells. Such a bright sound, english bells are much heavier and have a darker booming tone.

Not Necessarily, bells can vary from a 1cwt tenor to an 82cwt tenor

That is fantastic, it is so nice to see English change ringing spread across the world and also to realise that whilst its genisis may have been a call to worship it also can be used as a secular form of hobby and music. Bell ringers have been often seen as having a hump back like in the hunch back of Notre Dame. If only morepeople of a,l cultures could see what a great hobby it is and is good for the body and GREAT for the mind Also thatwas very good striking

Very nice! There many be no other towers like this in the western US, but there are three not far from Seattle: one in Victoria (Anglican cathedral) and two in Vancouver (Holy Rosary Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, Mission - both Catholic).

One million US dollars will cover that for your parish church, assuming you already have a suitable tower ready to go for the bells and structural work.

Sam Sananikone Big Ben is a famous bell but isn’t a traditional English style church bell.
@ringeradam45756 жыл бұрын
Big Ben isn't a church bell. The most famous Church bell would probably be either Emmanuel (the tenor bell of Liverpool Cathedral), Great Paul (in St. Paul's Cathedral - Britain's largest church bell) or Great Peter (In York Minster - Britain's largest bell still rung by hand)

@ameliaviolet86919 жыл бұрын
the striking was good but you need to improve a little you need to ring rounds not as long coz it is not boring to here york minster has a ring of 12 and they ring more change ring than rounds so its probly best to ring more change rinning then rounds

You're not a bell ringer so stop dishing out orders as though you know what you're doing because you don't. I'd like to see you do all this first go with no mistakes. Go and bug other people.

The difference is that this touch was the first blows ever on the ring of bells, and also the first time the band had ever rung together. Under these circumstances, allowing plenty of time for the rounds to settle is essential, and the band did a fantastic job.
