really. So what ur saying that any distant underground rumbling or echoes from Tower Hill's ancient past is as truly extinct as the volcano itself mm?
@FLAME456410 жыл бұрын
mmm I guess so. Still The last time i was there with my family there actualy was. And now as you've said its nothing but a peaceful but to you a boring place.

God, the dormant volcano Yellowstone raises its yank head once again, being Austalia i would worry more about Mount Toba,a real super volcano followed by Taupo REAL volcanoes to worry about.

I might be going there

I prefer not to think about the worst case scenario - I live on the northern slope of what was referred to as a Breached Caldera. Tower Hill is deceptive because the original eruption was so violent, it blew its peak clean off. It is at least 10 kms in circumference. If it goes bang again, I won't be paying any more bills.

Let's hope that doesn't happen any time soon!

If you live in Australia then you live nowhere near a volcano
@lolzytimes4all3 жыл бұрын
@@frenchys_prospecting You are wrong. Volcanic eruptions occur in Victoria and will occur again in the near future geologically speaking.
@frenchys_prospecting3 жыл бұрын
@@lolzytimes4all correct. I only found out about the volcanic activity running from Melbourne to mt gambier about six months ago. Incredible that experts are lobbying the government to work out a volcanic eruption plan before it’s too late.
@lolzytimes4all3 жыл бұрын
@@frenchys_prospecting Yeah mate, barely anyone knows about it. The Government needs to consider something happening, but I doubt it will happen within our lifetime. If it were to happen it'd most likely occur in the southern most parts of Victoria at this point in time because we are drifting north over the hotspot that is producing this magma. They think the hotspot is currently under the tasman sea at this point in time but that doesn't mean old faultlines couldn't provide a conduit for magma to rise in areas such as Ballarat or possibly even near Melbourne or in Melbourne. Alot of Melbourne is built on what is referred to as "Tullamarine Basalt" which was a pretty large flood basalt eruption that covered the majority of the NW suburbs up to about Moonee Ponds, possibly a little further, so there are most definitely risks of a volcanic eruption occurring near the city but chances are that if an eruption did occur it'd occur more south west like it did here.
